Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs I always liked the lyrics on Fates Warning. I was just in the pub with my brother and we were just saying that a lot of No Prayer... is underrated.

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs I must be president of the Phantom fan club. I can say with some confidence that it is my favourite Maiden song. Anyways, I listened to NotB for the first time in a while today, and the three song run of Children of the Damned, The Prisoner and 22...

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs I discovered Public Enema Number One for the first time only recently. For some reason, I'd only just noticed the very subtle harmony on the chorus, on the line "fall on your knees today/get to your feet today". When I heard that, the whole song sounded...

    Poor comparison?

The E - C - G - D progression is in a ****load of Maiden songs, and as well as millions of other peoples songs (maybe different key, but same progression). What if God Was One of Us is one of those millions.

    The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS)

I saw them at Leeds Festival in 05, and Sonisphere in 2010, so I didn't hear those ones. You're right about Moonchild, it was definitely my highlight of that night. When you say "they tried", did they drop it because it wasn't working out? I don't know the story behind it. Was it dropped for...

    The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS)

Your English was great bro! You speak English as a second language better than a lot of people here do as a first language.  :edmetal: Also, I agree with every word you said. I think Maiden have got so many good songs now that they'll always be disappointing someone with their setlist; they...

    Final Frontier: one year later

As for a song ranking... Starblind Mother of Mercy The Alchemist Coming Home The Talisman El Dorado Isle of Avalon The Final Frontier When The Wild Wind Blows Man Who Would Be King There really isn't a lot separating the top 6 or 7 though.

    Final Frontier: one year later

I was only just thinking about this earlier. Now it's sunk in properly, I'm not sure it is as great as I thought it was. Certainly top half, thats for sure. I think my issue with it is that the album as a whole is actually not greater than the sum of its parts. I don't like the pacing and feel...

    The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS)

Yeah. Although a great song, I don't think the Final Frontier was a great opener. Would it have been heretic if they played Satellite 15 to open, then straight into The Wicker Man, then when that Bruce says "Welcome... to the FINAL FRONTIER... HAHAHA", then they play the song?

Finally !!!!!! Adrian Smith's Jackson signature model guitar hit the stores !!!!

I'd have bought one by now, but I'm just not a Floyd kind of guy. Besides, I have two Strats already based on his sunburst and white Fenders he used for the BNW tour.

    The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS)

Welcome to the forum! Saturday was my 8th, and my brothers 9th time seeing Maiden. We both agreed that it was definitely well up there in our rankings. I'd place it behind the two festival gigs I saw them at (Leeds 05, Knebworth 10), but to say it is the best of the 5 arena gigs is pretty high...

    The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS)

I was at the O2 on Saturday, and to be honest, I didn't think the sound was amazing. I thought all the levels were all pretty equal, but the solos and some of the vocals weren't quite clear (I was roughly in the middle at the back of the first tier). Either way, I thought it was an epic show...

    Other's Maiden Blasphemy?

I have a friend who says "all Maiden songs sound the same". He is a classical music snob though, so I place very little importance on his opinions.

Classic cinema - thoughts and questions

Classic cinema - thoughts and questions

I watched North By Northwest last night, which was absolutely stunning. Cary Grant's character had a delicious streak of sarcasm to him. I haven't seen a Hitchcock I haven't liked yet. The Man Who Knew Too Much was probably my least favourite, but it was still good.
