The intro of Murders is a 10/10 for me. Love the bass line there. Once it gets going and goes all early-Maiden-happy-go-lucky it loses me.

Same here. Really happy to say I got to see Murders live. Its a live-situated song imho, its a fun groove that gets you into the idea of Maiden; it worked for my wife who isnt a suoer fan (she's only known Maiden beyond the *SONG* NoTB since meeting yours truly). We were within sight of bruce's nipples and armpit hair. So close to the stage haha, but Murders worked as an intro to groove her into thr experience; ultimately I think thats why Maiden hasnt played it much, and why its always an opener. Is it the best song? Helllll fucking no. But in the concept of: "Hey we're gonna open with a song and we want the energy AND the plodding AND the repeated chorus AND the length", well fuck boys, its a great Maiden opener for a tour where they are trying to capitalize and endure folks seeing them for the first time finally. Worked in the early 80s, worked in the early days tour, works now. Post concert my wife (her first heavy metal concert, ikik, we're both chefs so its once in a blue moon to be able to travel and catch a US show). She thought Murders was a great way to prepare her for the set

Play a song imposible but being there at the backstage would had been cool. But on his youtube channel he spoke like he was not band anymore and he can play what he wants and that maiden played infinite dreams because he played that song before and his comments about simon.. i think they are not in good terms are something like that
