I always thought this was the Blaze they hired, very early in October 1995:

Blaze struggled because he always tried to match the high parts of Bruce, instead of forming the vocal lines to match his voice better. But I can undertsand why, he tried to make the audience accept him. And I don't know how well the crowd would have reacted if he changed songs drastically. But at least he could have given a solid performance night after night. Instead he (or Steve?) chosed to die on the stage every night.
