Saw this on Friday and Sunday. My mate was working at it so he was able to get me snake pit for both shows. Great experience, hearing "darkness imprisoning me" being screamed by 50 000 fans while standing on pretty much the centre spot of the pitch was a goosebumps moment.

Very wealthy crowd in the snake pit, a guy in a Burberry mac on the Friday night Dont think there was more than two or 3 other irish in it as no one had a clue what Kirk and Rob were playing when they done Black Rose and Dirty Old Town (to be fair, less reaction than I would have expected in the rest of the stadium too)

I guess, even more so than Maiden, Metallica fans are just Metallica fans. My mate said they were shocked at how small a proportion of the crowd were in for Pantera, and it was even less again for Gojira the second night. Maybe early kick off time and Irish drinking culture played a part too

With the upcoming re-release of ReLoad, I have been listening to Load and ReLoad all weekend. I think they were the beginning of the problem with all Metallica albums that followed. Too long!

I think if Load had cut 2x4, Cure, Poor Twisted Me, and Ronnie, it would’ve been a stronger album. With Reload, methinks Better Than You, Slither, and Prince Charming and/or Attitude should’ve gotten the boot.
