The biggest disaster show Maiden ever did?

In 2022 Belgrade, Eddie came out late during Senjutsu, Blood brothers seems to have started early so Bruce didn't talk at all during the show, Bruce didn't wave Serbian flag and completely forgot to sing one of the last verses on trooper.

Well it looks like tonights show will have to be added to this thread

Maybe they liked the intermission and they'll do since now (with Aces High in the middle of the set) so… 2 set list and no encore anymore :ninja:

This is my favourite:

The bootleg "A Real Drunk One" is a real collector's gem! The Wembley show has become something of a legend among Maiden fans.

Let me explain why... maybe the title already gives you a clue?

Janick Gers is completely wasted. He messes up a lot of songs and eventually ends up causing the concert itself to grind to a halt.

Starting from the beginning, the first few songs are played pretty poorly and very cautiously. It feels like Janick is getting drunker and drunker as the show goes on. The turning point comes at the end of "Wasting Love", where he completely misses his part, which seems to throw the rest of the band off a bit.

Then during "Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter", things get really weird. Bruce stops singing, Steve and Nicko keep playing the same thing over and over, and the song somehow stretches out to an unbelievable 13 minutes.

The band finishes the song and then... nothing. A break. Nobody seems to know what's going on. Bruce tries to keep the crowd entertained, joking around and talking, but it's obvious he doesn't really know what to do next.

The audience comes up with an idea: a drum solo. Nicko picks up on it and starts banging away, but honestly it's boring as hell. It clearly wasn't planned.

After a while Janick finally reappears (a quick detox session, maybe?) and they launch into "Wasted Years." Bruce's loud sigh and his "Oh my God..." pretty much says it all.

From there the show somehow limps along, one song after another.

Musically, it's not a particularly great concert, but Janick's drunken antics and the chaos they caused are definitely entertaining enough to make this bootleg worth tracking down.

Torino Italy 1993. Bruce gets spat on and does a big rant after the third song. He then barely gives a fuck and talks his way through a bunch of songs. Wasted Years, The Evil That Men Do and Fear of the Dark sound like totally different songs and just making up new melodies as he goes along. Hilarious.

The truth is every current show is a shadow of what Iron Maiden is supposed to sound like. Dawson needs to go.

I’d argue the singer is the weakest link in the current line-up.
Bruce rocks! Cain out!!

In seriousness, Bruce has been fantastic at I've the 4 gigs I've seen on RFYL. Aces leaves something to be desired but I honestly didn't care. In the context of watching a full show, any issues are a mere blip, from either Bruce or Simon.

Each to their own, ooooooobvs but Maiden are still well worth seeing live and Bruce still captivates me.

The singer? Wtf. The show i saw was the best 50min of bruce in years. Then i felt he was tired. As much i love murray for me its the one that i felt he "improvises" too much the solos. And i wouldnt call the weakest. My opinion: i still enjoy this band in studio and live. Thats the importsnt

I have not said that's not the case. :)

I think Bruce is probably the best metal singer ever for his age. A lot of his peers started to struggle by this age and did any others still sing the material in its original key at nearly 70?

Not even Dio

And Bruce nails nearly all of the classic material apart from Trooper and Aces (which clearly should probably be tuned down now but let's get into that debate again)
