1. Powerslave
An absolute, utter, earth-shattering masterpiece. A monster of an album. Not only is it their best album, not only is it the best metal album ever, on top of all that it's the greatest album ever, any genre. My desert island disc.

When the shit hits the fan and I escape to a desert island, the first thing I'll quickly grab will be my Powerslave CD and you'll be finding me laying under a palm tree listening to this at full blast.
Starts with a brilliant, most exquisite opener, closes with a brilliant, most exquisite closer, and it's got 6 brilliant, most exquisite songs in between. This is the greatest piece of music ever created by humankind. There's nothing exists that's more metal than this. There's no material, no mineral in existence in the whole universe that contains more metal than this. Not even in another solar system, what's more, not even in another galaxy will you find anything more metallic than this, you can mine every celestial body you like.
The whole thing just oozes quality, talent, musicianship, energy and positivity. Extremely pleasing to the ears. There's an unstoppable drive. You can absolutely tell the boys had a superb time making this. This is 5 extremely talented musicians at work here, at their very peak. Plus an ace sound engineer, the best in the business.
Bruce's vocals are out of this world. The solos, instrumental sections are out of this world. Bass playing, drum playing are out of this world. Check out Steve's fret clanking sound throughout the whole album, but especially on Losfer Words. There's nothing more metallic than that. Martin absolutely nailed every instrument on this album. Anybody wants to make a metal record, this is the highest source, this the ultimate, the absolute best example. My favourite album of all time.

Has been for about 30 years.
The guitars are thick, clear and mean, the snare drum is fantastic with a short snap to it, just the way I love it. Check out those toms. The best tom sound ever. The riffs, the vocal melody lines, the twin leads, the verses, the lyrics, the choruses, the drumming, the instrumental sections, the solos, the overall song composition. Everything's perfect. Every single guitar pick, every single drum hit, every single word sung is perfect. Every single moment on this is absolute, utter perfection.
Almost the very same could be said about the rest:
2. Piece Of Mind
3. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
4. Somewhere In Time
5. The Number Of The Beast
Planet Earth's absolute, all time best 5 albums my friends.
