The state of the USA these days has made me remember this old joke:
A Soviet and an American are seated next to each other on a plane traveling from Moscow to Washington DC. The American says, I have to hand it to you, your propaganda is very impressive. The Soviet smiles and thanks him but replies that it's nothing compared to American propaganda. Confused, the American tells him: “But we don't have propaganda."
The Soviet smiles and says "Exactly".
Precisely. You can see clearly how CNN and CBS have shifted over the years and how they are constantly sane-washing Trump's actions. Not that other networks are much better about that. Biden would yawn and you'd see a million articles about him being unfit and too old. Trump literally falls asleep in meetings, starts new wars (and thinks about getting boots on the ground!), and has his goons kidnap and murder US citizens among other things, yet the media tend to adopt the administration's framing for everything. No pushback. No journalistic integrity. It's all bought and paid for.I've said it once and I'll say it again. USSR/Russian propaganda is straight forward and blunt. The government owns "official" news outlets. In the U.S it is subversive, subtle. The government doesn't own news outlets. Instead billionaires do.
