Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

Here and elsewhere I've seen people in various states of rage over why Blaze wasn't asked.

Why would anyone assume that?

Maybe he was asked and doesn't want to play second fiddle to his old band. Maybe he's busy that day. Maybe Maiden don't feel comfortable asking him for some reason, like it would feel like charity and they don't want to make him feel like that. Fuck knows. Maybe the guys actually hate eachother, despite what they say in the media.

Plus there's a TBA for Friday. Could be Blaze.

I just don't get why people seem angry at Maiden for something that they have no evidence for.

Personally I think it's a decent 2 day package and the lively rock n roll vibes of the bands on the bill suits me more as a warm up to Maiden than other heavier bands people have listed here.

I'd be more inclined towards this if camping was still available and I could attend on the Friday. But as a one day thing I'm not so keen, considering I've seen the show 3 times last year and will choose a more exotic location to see it this year.

I was thinking this myself. People have no idea what goes on behind the scenes

Judas Priest
Lamb of God
Megadeth
Anthrax
Killswitch Engage
In Flames
Architects
Avenged Sevenfold
Trivium
None of those bands are available. Literally half of that list are playing other tours or festivals.
Download main stage bands is what they should have booked. Instead their biggest draw (Darkness/Airborne) don't even headline second stage.
Maiden don't book themselves for Download. It's up to Download and they made it clear that they're moving on from "legacy artists".

The Darkness on before the 2nd stage headliners last year.

Btw, nothing wrong with none alcoholic beer... :) I enjoy Maiden shows so much more since I gave up drinking beer or any other alc half a decade ago. And First To The Barrier makes no sense with beer, because it would turn soon into some First To The Toilet or First To The Pee Tree or whatever you wanna call that project.
I wouldn't say no if they launched a 0% Trooper.

The Darkness play the same sized venues in the UK as most of those listed bands. Airborne, The HU and The Almighty are certainly small venue bands, but The Darkness are a well known band that play medium size venues to arenas in the UK. Is it because their fans may not be the right sort of people that's triggering "metal" fans? Would be sad if it was, and also not true, I've seen them 7 or 8 times and there's not a lot of difference between their crowd and a normal metal crowd. Certainly far less attention seekers than the standard Download crowd, by a long way.

I have seen The Darkness 3 times in Guildford at a 1700 capacity venue. Great live band, very entertaining, but definitely not big enough to be second on the bill.

I must admit that when I got the e-mail about this the other day I got excited and went to check the prices again to see if it would be doable. For 3 people with a car camping, the cost is £628.84, so I am afraid that I am still out.

As someone who goes camping with the family to proper campsites, I find the cost of camping per person (£50.85) completely outrageous.

Also, I couldn't help but chuckle at this:

Action! and Iron Maiden's promotional e-mail said:
Steve Harris has curated a whole evening of entertainment planned on the Maidenville stage featuring a mix of special acts with strong connection to Iron Maiden.

MAIDENVILLE STAGE
FRIDAY NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
STRAY
MAIDEN UNITED
AIRFORCE
TONY MOORE'S AWAKE

HAIR METAL GLAMAGEDDON

So basically, Steve has a set of British Lion support bands playing there on the Friday!

(For what is worth, I quite like Stray and have seen them live twice: once supporting Maiden back in 2003 and then at a festival in 2021).

I don't think Maiden have ever got the fact that really unless it's legacy metal band like Priest etc fans are only interested in Maiden. Im not saying these bands are no good. But every Maiden gig I've been too theres only I think 2 or 3 support bands the crowd have been arsed about. That was Halford and Trivium to a degree. Cant think of many more

I remember some (rare) examples of support bands that got the Maiden audience going: Helloween in 1996 and 1998 (in the latter show they were arguably better than Maiden), Megadeth in 1999, and Gamma Ray in 2003.

I think this is great, they are people with a genuine connection to the band goin back 50yrs in some cases and it's bound to be a wonderful jolly for those guys to be part of something this big and great for Maiden and associated folk to have so many of them all hangin round at a (kind of) festival again, a perfect bit of craic for all the lads in their 50th year. Plus a lot of the mega fans who go to looooads of gigs will have some kinda relationship with the guys from Stray and Tony Moore etc.

It's gonna be a real love in for the old heads and the hardcore fans. Hats off.

Maiden have had a few nicely received support bands in Sweden over the years. Sabaton and Opeth, for instance.

Helloween better than maiden in 1996 and 1998 ok they haf better albums. But megadeth in 1999 they were touring with risk a really bad album. And gamma ray i remember they had a bad setlist while touring with maiden. Could have been epic but was not that great
