Trooper Eddie and cover are just timeless. Like a perfect idea for the band. I guess it will be one of the Top 5 covers in the game.
BYD has a lot of stuff going on and it's a bit distracting from Eddie (the transparent logo too...?), but I appreciate the details and the background. IMO, it's the better cover of the 2.
Holy Smoke is by default really, good use of colors but not interesting and Eddie's face could have been better.

I didn't vote for TXF cover because while striking (one of THE striking images of Maiden), it's too realistic and ugly on purpose. If the bottom part wasn't shown, I probably would have voted for it. Overall, it's probably better than Holy Smoke. Man On The Edge is a no for me, one of my least favorites (and it's not creative at all).

The Bring Your Daughter single logo should have been white—to make it visible.

Some thoughts:

A drawn cover for TXF (used live as a backdrop for Man On The Edge) showed that it would be much better (same as DOD), but they wanted a change in the art style just for this album. Even the colors look better.
At 1:15.

For Man On The Edge, I guess a cover idea wasn't easy to come up with (they ended up with a generic and easy for them idea; just the head is also striking because of the design), footage from the video for inspiration with Eddie falling down? Maybe they could have used an idea with the walk-on Eddie from the tour (imo, a strong design), it would have been cool. The artists' decisions during 1992-1996 were odd.

The Essentials comp cover is a rare case for the band.

Bring Your Daughter is neat except for the daughter, whose design I’ve always disliked. Looks like a weird Roger Rabbit design.

Trooper is obviously a good bit better than the rest, but I think Holy Smoke and Bring Your Daughter are good too, I prefer the other Bring Your Daughter cover, but I like that there's a few Riggs easter eggs in this cover which gave it the nod over Holy Smoke, but both good covers from the days when there was barely a bad Maiden cover. I was never a big fan of the X Factor stuff, the Man on the Edge picture disc cover being the best from the whole album but still not among my faves. The Essential is just a stock photo from a generic Sony hits package, not sure I really consider this a proper Maiden release.

I can't lie. None of these covers actually speak to me. The X Factor comes closest, but it all depends on the lighting of the image. "Trooper" is great in concept, but I kind of wish that the colors were a bit sleeker.

I'm realizing I never looked at many of those closely at all...
