I don't see any problem with someone like Bruce or Nicko charging for such meetings. Sure, it doesn't fit the brand they've spent years building, but on the other hand, if anyone should charge for meetings, it should be someone with their track record, not a 20-year-old crypto bro or something. It's better than lurking in the bushes outside hotels while they try to relax before or after a concert.
 
Back in 1982 I went to a record store where Maiden made an appearance to sign authographs before their show later that night. Got everyone's sig, of course there was no fee back then. If you go to these conventions now you will see dealers with hundreds of celeb photos and autographs charging whatever. So I have no problems with celebs charging at these functions.

Pretty sure the studio was pretty damn goo towards the end. But same as with Yngwie Malmsteen and his really expensive home studio, you also need somebody with a great set of ears and skills to make the best of it, and that somebody is not Tony Newton and not Steve Harris.

That is true. Manic Street Preachers were able to record excellent-sounding albums in Faster studios in Cardiff (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats...ews/manics-moving-out-faster-studios-12059671) and have been continuing to do so after that on their own Door to the River studio, which is essentially a converted cottage in Caerleon near Newport.

He says MAYBE he will be asked to do a couple of songs. And he is still an iron maiden member or part of the family but now means that he does interviews and his role on the fan club.

Now im starting to think that there will not be a new iron maiden album. And there will be a few tours now the greatest hits and maybe another with rare songs.

This is also curious:
''So, we used to have to change the drum fills on various songs over the last two tours, the 'Legacy Of The Beast' tour part two, and then 'Future Past'. But going forward, there were songs on this new set that I knew I would have difficulty playing, and we wouldn't wanna change them, like the parts we changed, say, in 'Trooper', for instance; I didn't play the big drum fills anymore. So, we agreed. I had a big conversation with Steve and I told him, 'Look, I'm finding it very difficult with all the traveling and the recuperating time.' We didn't have days off, so to speak. And he said, 'Okay, I get it. And maybe it's best.' And so it was more of 80 percent me, 20 percent in agreement with the rest of the guys to hang it up. And that's why I retired.''

Nicko mentions the 2022 tour as well, for changed drum fills.

I think it’s the actor Tim Curry. He played the clown Pennywise and the Sheriff of Nottingham in the old Robin Hood series (which my cousins and I adored in our childhood—we’d play with bows after watching it).
 
But what would you expect Nicko to say when he is asked this question?
He will and can not confirm that they are planning a new album. He also can not answer that he doesn't know anything. After talking about being still a member of the band that would also be odd.
So saying there are no plans is the only option. It is always possible to claim later the planning started after this interview.
