Neither Deliverance nor ANATO should complete the top 5, Remedy Lane should. I heard it for the first time yesterday and again today, it's incredible. Between it and The Perfect Element, I should have gotten into PoS ages ago.
Glad you like Pain of salvation, they took some time to get into for me, but they are truly amazing. I bought Remedy lane back then just because of a great review in a magazine. They have made quite different albums over the years

Some interesting results here. Six Degrees and Blind Guardian had some of the worst performances for albums that were initially seeded high, Six Degrees in particular probably being the worst performing album among those that have received more than one nomination. Otherwise there weren't many dramatic drops or jumps among albums that were nominated. The largest movement came from two albums that were seeded toward the bottom due to not being nominated, with Deliverance sneaking into the top 5 right at the last second. Personally, I don't think Tenth Dimension or Deliverance belongs in the top 5. I would have put Bloodbath and Agalloch there instead. Interestingly, despite being a fairly popular band around here, Remission wasn't able to get anywhere and stayed in last place the entire time - the first time the last seeded album ended up last.

Personally, I don't think Tenth Dimension or Deliverance belongs in the top 5.
I don’t think Maiden or Maiden-adjacent albums should be included at all, due to obvious expected bias.

Re: Six Degrees; it’s an album with very high peaks (Glass Prison, Blind Faith, and Great Debate) but very low valleys (most of Disappear, most of the title track). It was my introductory album to Dream Theater but I’ve found that as an overall experience it isn’t a particularly strong listen.

I considered this, but ultimately decided against excluding Maiden stuff because I think it’s interesting seeing how it shakes out. Unlike the GMAC/GMSC, a Maiden juggernaut doesn’t really destroy the rest of the game because a top 3 or top 5 showing is still impressive. I am also toying with the idea of a “B” Division when we get to the finals.

Yeah, I concur on that. There's no limit to votes, so you can just mentally exclude the albums you think shouldn't be there.
