RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Nicko's sounding REALLY good here, I feel like his groove has come back compared to last year.
Moonchild is great.

This video makes me think that his issues were amplified by travel and pressure changes while flying from gig to gig. He seems to have gotten better from simply staying at home.

Is Bruce doing Florida this year?

Yesterday was our 15th wedding anniversary for my wife and I. We managed to get Maiden playing for us and our son, in our hometown, with 50000+ lucky guests. What a night it was.
That’s awesome!

Unfortunately my wife (gf at the time) and I didn’t have the same romantic experience as you.

She got us tickets to see maiden back on the “Give Me Ed… 'Til I'm Dead” tour. She isn’t a fan but it was a birthday gift for me- how sweet! Of course I was in full ‘maiden mode’. Maiden shirt out to dinner before the show raised her eyebrows, that should have been a warning-(a warning for her or for me I’m not sure. )

Once Dr Dr hit the speakers it was on! Two songs into maiden I was singing all the lyrics and, according to her, ‘ignoring her’- she decided to huff and puff off to go wait in the car.

I stayed and enjoyed the rest of the show.

We’ve been married and kids for over 20 years now so all is good- but Maiden shows are now solely a boys night out for me.

I've found a new angle to be pissed off about: Nicko's health troubles forcing him to retire from touring also meant he wasn't around when they were putting the RFYL set together to demand they play Infinite Dreams. I'm almost positive it would've happened since he's played it so many times with his solo band now, it's obvious he wanted to do it with Maiden too.

Hooligan is the 2MTM artwork Jackson. Ibanez Roadstar is a guitar model that was used by H to record Powerslave. It's blue.
Cool, thank you so much! :-)
And in case you have some detailed description or tab with Adrians exact right hand (the flow of UPstrokes and DOWNstrokes here!!) he plays the main riff of 2MTM , you are the man of the decade!!:notworthy:
Bremen on Tuesday, I stood there and thought again: "H, tell me! :notworthy: WTF are you doing there!"... I mean, it's so special the way he plays it, so unique. He kinda always places an upstroke right there where actually a down would be plausible and sometimes the other way round. All with such a smooth flow (will call him Adrian Smooth from now on  ). I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. It's a big mystery for me for years yet how he plays exactly. He seems NOT to begin with an upstroke so it seems. But is he entering the riff somewhat between the bar, or kicking in to the offbeat? :wtf:

I hear ya. My only wish for the current tour is they could fit in Infinite Dreams.

Has Nicko ever done New Frontier with Tart? You would think he would considering it's his only Maiden writing credit.

He has not, but he played it with his first Maiden tribute band, McBrain Damage, back in 2004.

There's an audio bootleg floating around out there, I believe I have it but will have to dig through some stuff!

I find Nickos setlist to be slightly better than Maiden’s :D
A better representation for 50 years, that's for sure.
I'm sure they will change 2-3 songs, if they decide to do a 3rd leg. I just hope they don't extend this tour in 2027. I hope they will give us something else.
This.

It feels like that, yeah. I think he could do the encore songs.

It was great to hear such drumming on Moonchild, but you can see why he retired from live playing.

Iirc, Bruce has a solo show in Florida.

I think so too. The songs he's played with his solo band in the last few years yet to be played by Maiden again:

Infinite Dreams, To Tame A Land, 22, Moonchild, Running Free, Parchment, Darkest Hour.

Didn't know that, would love to hear it. He should also do Sun And Steel since he said he always wanted to play it. Bring a NPFTD song, Nick!

Infinite Dreams, and oddly enough DWYBO are the two songs I think would've certainly fit this setlist like a glove, assuming two other songs got replaced. For the latter, the obvious choice is AH, but I dunno what I'd do to fit in ID since there's no really obvious swap there. Maybe remove Murders since I don't think it sounds that great or appeals to the casual audience and open with Phantom instead. Still end up with a longer set, but not massively so.

Nicko about Simon:

Well, I've known Simon for a number of years. He actually was a British Drum Company endorsee for a bit. I got him his deal, actually, probably six, seven years back. And we were hanging out. Now obviously Steve took BRITISH LION on tour with him on 'The Future Past Tour', and we discussed the possibility of… When we started the North American tour, we were down in San Diego, then we came out to L.A. and I sat with Steve and that was basically when I decided that it was time to let him know that I was gonna retire. And we had a chat about it, and he said, 'Well, would you mind if we have a rehearsal with Simon?' And I went, 'Absolutely not. I mean, he's been on tour with us since Asia and Australia.' I said, 'He's bound to know the songs.' I said, 'Why not?' So they had a rehearsal with him in Portland. And it went really well. And it wasn't a question of, 'Well, let's replace you now, Nick.' The understanding was I was gonna finish the tour and that he was gonna replace me… This was a decision that Steve made, and I thought, well, fine. He's a great player… And so I had no issues with that whatsoever. And he's a great guy, and he's doing a fantastic job. I mean, he's not me. And they didn't want somebody like me, like a Nicko clone or whatever. But he's got his own fingerprint, which is great.

And I'm sure this is what I can imagine Steve would've said to Simon. It was what he said to me was, like, 'Nick,' he said, 'On the old stuff,' he said, 'You play what you want, the way you wanna play it, but keep to the arrangement that Clive did on the songs.' And that's the only kind of instruction that I got from Steve, is 'you do your thing, but keep the arrangements as what Clive had played on the old stuff.

And I'm very happy. I haven't really watched a lot of YouTube stuff — for two reasons. The main one is it sounds shit… So I tend to not watch it, but I've seen a couple of things, and they're rocking out really well… But, yeah, he's doing great. And I really like Simon. I'm glad he is doing good.

The obvious choice would be Clairvoyant, since they skipped Evil That Men Do, but the show would be longer. I thought Boots had a good chance (Infinite too), but I guess playing more POM songs during Legacy had it's impact to say.

Don't forget a NPFTD song too. ;)

BTW, best Hallowed vocally of the tour and it's not even close.
Awesome. Btw, isn't the stage show darker with screens?
