RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

What's your verdict? Think we're gonna end the tour with the Lados relegated to curiosity pieces that show up for one or two songs each?
I think the green Jackson will make a return to some extent. The black Lado is the star of the show sound-wise so far. If I was H, I'd go black Lado for first 4 songs, Powerslve, Rime and Aces Mid-Height, Jackson for SSOASS, Trooper, Hallowed and WY.

About what I said, but I thought both performances were way better than your previous rants made me expect.
Bruce is struggling 2 weeks into the tour. Let's see what happens when he gets a cold or has an off night. It's a terrible decision to include it, let alone in the encore. 4 Powerslave songs is too much during this tour IMO. And after LOTB production, you can't better it.

They probably have been following the commentary here and fell into the mood.
That, or somehow they have a working pair of ears.

I was honestly expecting him to go back to the Jacksons quite fast after a few shows so I was a little surprised the Lados endured so far, but knowing how fussy H evidently can be about tune and practical issues with guitars, I figured it's probably a matter of time until he's minimized their use. Which is a shame, but all the same if your tools ain't workin' out for you, no matter what the reason, you might at least wanna try out something else.

The black Lado is a beastly sounding guitar. That one sounds amazing. The grey one has feedback issues and I guess H is playing it that much due to Live After Death.

I love Nick. Desperately wish the reunion lineup could have stayed together till the end but the stroke robbed Nick of his abilities and he just isn't up to it anymore.
I used to think of this whole deal in the abstract, but being faced with the practical consequences of Nicko's forced retirement, I keep getting pissed off. It's utterly fucked and unfair he can't do what he was meant to do anymore. No disrespect to Simon for having the ungrateful role of filling the unfillable boots, but it really should've been ol' Nick up there with his massive kit and all. Alas.

I know, but that does not mean that his replacement is capturing the drumming feel Nicko had up until quite recently.
Of course.

On another note, I do agree with everyone's sentiment on Aces High. As a bit of a lapsed Maiden fan at the time, (when did it return to the set 2018 ish?) I recall seeing some videos of it sounding like poor old Blaze was secretly behind a curtain at gunpoint singing it for Bruce and thinking it should not be in the set anymore.

Bring your Daughter was right there. It was a classic in those live shows in 2003.

I was just watching some videos of Devin Townsend and I'm kinda led to believe that the ideal Nicko replacement would be Darby Todd, His Stratus cover convinces me.

But it is what it is now.

Yeah, Nick was dealing with the ageing and slowing down fairly well. Plus it's not like Maiden have thrash metal speed or rhythms to deal with so he probably could have continued playing most of their set for a couple for years.

So. I'm back from seeing the two Stockholm shows. Great shows, I loved seeing all the epics and the screens really POP irl. But man.. I don't wanna add more to the Simon/Nicko thing, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that something was off during both nights. The first night was more rough, the second night was tighter and better, but there's just something that's (naturally) missing..

Don't wanna be negative, it's just something that really sticks out for me. The last show I saw was Stockholm 2018, so I missed the last years of Nicko, but in 2018 he was a freaking beast. Where Eagles Dare, etc.

I will add more comments/reviews after some sleep. Just wanted to give some quick first impressions.

Dave was a god during these shows, my god, amazing solos!!
