Now Playing (Video Games)

Haven't played Survivor yet, but Fallen Order was a great game. Only downside was the limited (or rather non existent) fast travel system making picking up the last few collectables here and there tedious.

Both GOWs are fantastic. I own AC Odyssey but haven't played it yet. Heard a lot of good stuff about it though. All in all a great selection of games though.

So, I've finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and liked it so much that I went for 100% (achievements on PS5) and made it.

Started God of War (2018) and just when I got the hang of it, I got a notification that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is on sale in PS store (75% - 19,99 euros). Moreso, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is also on sale (Deluxe edition on 80% - 17,49 euros) and God of War: Ragnarok is 50% down (39,99).

I think I got my 2025 sorted out.
All great games that hopefully you’ll enjoy!

I preferred Fallen Order to Survivor, but the latter is still excellent and a bigger game overall. AC Odyssey was the best AC I’ve played, and I’m looking forward to Shadows next week. I played as Kassandra, which aside from the historical inaccuracies of a woman in combat in Ancient Greece was a fantastic experience. I’ve been told she has the better voice acting when compared to Alexios.

I just completed GoW Ragnarok and I loved it overall; it has that adventure feel similar to the reboot Tomb Raiders but is more focused on combat. I ordered GoW (2018) and am pumped to play.

I recently replayed Gears 2 and Road to Ruin and I agree. It tried to do some interesting things with semi-stealth segments but I feel it was a bit too repetitive and didn't really fit with the tone of what happened storywise prior to that segment. So I can understand why they decided to cut it. I haven't played Aftermath (and Judgment in general), but planning to catch up later this year.

Now playing:
re-playing and hopefully finally finishing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1, in order to play the second installment (although the news that you can't enter any church in the second game and that maybe you'll be able to do so in the paid DLC released at the end of the year is a bit of a bummer)

Also I had a bit of a rough week (we had to move the entire family - three kids, two cats in order to paint the house and wifey and kids came down with a cold, so I'm completely exhausted), so it was a lot of "comfort food", in the form of various Diablo installments and from soft games with power metal (Rhapsody, Stratovarius) in the background... and more wine that would be proper in Lent, admittedly.

Also I'm playing RDR1 (again, a game I haven't yet finished despite starting over several times - blame me being spoiled from the perfection of RDR2 which I played first) and have just now bought and downloaded Age of Mythology: Retold (I always thought Mythology to be much better and more interesting than Empires).

Relatively recently I replayed Lies of P for the fifth time (the announcement of the DLC was as good an opportunity as any) and am eagerly awaiting both its DLC and the new Doom game.

I preferred Fallen Order to Survivor, but the latter is still excellent and a bigger game overall.

Gameplay-wise, I guess I am enjoying Survivor more, but Order had better atmosphere (and I was more invested in the story).

My best overall is probably Origins, although it gets repetitive towards the end. In general, however, I'm burned out regarding AC - I haven't even played the paid DLC for Valhalla and Mirage, it'll probably be a long time before I get to Shadows.

I played as Kassandra, which aside from the historical inaccuracies of a woman in combat in Ancient Greece was a fantastic experience. I’ve been told she has the better voice acting when compared to Alexios.
I agree, her voice acting is superior and superb, one of my favourite voice acting in games and I suspect the only reason she hasn't won awards for it was because it was the year when RDR2 came out (as Arthur Morgan is yet on another level).

AoM certainly has a unique fun factor, more visual flair and excitement with the myth units and god powers, but AoE2 to me is the pinnacle of RTS as 'real-time chess', very finely balanced and strategic but also demanding a lot of mechanical skill. It is also one of the few games where I actually enjoy watching the 'pro' tournament matches.
