    Your Album Ranking

It’s a photo finish for my top three… 1 - Somewhere In Time (the first album released after I became a fan so it’s a nostalgic classic, I love the synth sound and its filled with their best collection of guitar solos) 2 - A Matter of Life and Death (I constantly played this on repeat for about...

LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR 2022 - **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

It’s been a week or so since seeing Maiden at Copenhell. My thoughts…. …I loved the mid-paced feel of the set. No real rockers till NOTB suited me fine and seemed meticulously chosen as the show bounced along rhythmically well. The Senjutsu openers, Revelations, Blood Brothers and SoTC were...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I was born the same year Brice thinks Senjutsu is from.

How old were you when you started listening to Maiden and which 3 albums did you buy first?

1986 and I was 12. A friend of my brother gave me NOTB copied on cassette from his vinyl. The song order was wrong with side B before side A so the opening track was the title track (although the spoken word intro was missing) and the tape cut off during the slow part of 22AA. I’ve always...

    Hell On Earth

This song is just so so melodic and beautiful and uplifting. I’ve just been out walking the dog and when this song came on I started to dance. Impulsive. Couldn’t help it.

    Death Of The Celts

No worries Foro! The YouTube in the post above may help too.

    Death Of The Celts

@MaidenHeaven thanks for sharing this YouTube analysis on Death of the Celts in the Maiden Chat section… Really helps understand the song!

    Death Of The Celts

Initially I struggled to understand this one and it was my least favourite song on the album. The major key riffs made no sense for a war song. But on fourth listen I read the lyrics and it began to click. Celts going to battle, upbeat and excited. It’s a call to arms, not a reflection on the...

Well it’s a perfect Friday evening when all ten new Maiden songs are jousting in my brain for best song on the album. Each are pretty dam special! But my god…Steve has created two absolute masterpieces in The Parchment and Hell On Earth.

I love EOTC but so agree that Steve’s closing numbers here blow it away.

Quoting myself here…yes, sadly pathetic I know…but just putting it on record that Death of the Celts has finally clicked too. I’m now onboard with all songs. This is one fantastic album. (since I’ve quoted myself I may as well “:ok:” the post too…pathetically sad).

Wow, just had another listen through while reading the lyrics…Hell on Earth may be their finest ever song. It’s triumphant sounding and nearly drove me to tears. All songs have now “clicked” with me except Death of the Celts and I’m sure it will in another listen or two. Also, over the past 24...
