    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I’ve pre-ordered the silver vinyl but knowing that won’t arrive on the day of release I plan to go to the local metal record store and purchase the deluxe CD book to be able to read the lyrics on the second listen through. First listen through will be with eyes closed so no interruptions between...

Arranging Death Of The Celts and The Parchment the other way around in the track list would have resolved the issue of exceeding maximum side length for a double vinyl album (and therefore less expensive to manufacture)…so I respect the final track list because it shows Steve (and band?) are...

Good question. The dominant colour may be red…blood, logo, writing…it’s prominent despite there being more grey and silver and dark green on the cover.

Thanks man! My post was confusing…TTAL ticks those boxes to be defined as an epic but personally I do not find it “epic”. I guess I meant it is an underwhelming song to me despite being an epic. Hoping for five or six spectacular sounding epics on Senjutsu!!

Exactly. So epic isn’t defined by song length so much as having multiple parts, tempo changes, not having a verse/chorus/verse structure, and generally a climax or two along the way. I’m confident we’ll get atleast 5 epics on Senjutsu and not just 5 lengthy songs.

Some might consider To Tame A Land to be the epic off Piece of Mind yet it only runs for 7:26. I don’t, but some might.

Guess The Iron Maiden Song! [SPOILER-FREE]

    The Time Machine?

From the Bruce interview in Kerrang I’m intrigued by the interviewer’s following impression of the album: I’m hoping for epics containing cinematic soundscapes and extended instrumental sections. Bring it on I say. Silver vinyl edition pre-purchased.

Had a hectic day today…three hour interview, second Covid vaccination, two hour meeting with supervisor, lost my dog at the shops then found him. Am now happy to have settled in at home and read from page 14 to 31 of this chat as a reward for a long day. Thanks for all the posts folks! Now going...

Stratego was a board game I remember from childhood. It was a war game. So Stratego may be a song about war.

The new Senjutsu Eddie is spectacular and his four extra canines have grown on me (not literally). They look great. Love the cover. I wonder what the Japanese script on the right stands for? So many epics in the track list. Happy with each of the writing credits, song titles and length of...

Seven epics means plenty of songs in which all three guitarists (often) get a solo…love it when that happens. Bring it on!

New Single - The Writing on the Wall

    All guitar solos clearly audible.

What type of Blaze-era Iron Maiden fan were you?

Not sure about those shops. I’m in Australia but have family in Virginia so visited Tracks in Georgetown many times in the 80s-90s. Went to a metal festival out at Jiffy Lube too!
