The Greatest Metal Song Cup - Part II, Round 2, Matches 70-75

Such things are stupid (and fun), but it's about a machine uprising, four years before The Terminator, interestingly. Wonder if Rob was a fan of The Outer Limits? I think Priest adopting/being given the "Metal God" nickname swayed people's view on what the lyrics are about. Anyway, that's...

Halford - Crucible First listen, starting with the original version before comparing the remaster.

    Judas Priest

I was massively impressed with Saints in Hell too, it's not a song I'm overly keen on and I didn't think Rob had it in him anymore but he absolutely nailed it. I also think he actually managed to go higher on a few lines of Painkiller, which was still impressive despite being out of key.

    NOW WATCHING

After years of hearing about how great this is, it's finally available for me to watch and I'm enjoying it very much.

    Judas Priest

Agreed. It could be that he's fighting to prove that he's "still got it", but the notion that he wanted to "settle down and play golf" is kinda dispelled by his performances, and even before he left the band it was clear he had the most fire on stage. I can't agree with that. Richie's full of...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

The crowd had more than two months, they should've listened to more of Maiden's material. :D In all seriousness though, if I'd forked out fuck knows how much for a Powertrip ticket (or any festival) I'd actually bother to actually listen to some of the headliner's material if I wasn't already...

JUDAS PRIEST ALBUM RANKING GAME: #6 REVEALED

It's a strange choice not to let one song go, given that they were writing/had written what was intended to be a double album I'd have thought they'd have something in line to replace it.

These really impressed me opening for Priest the other night.

    Slash

I've only really heard smatterings of Slash's solo stuff. World on Fire had some great songs (and I saw him on the tour) but was a bit of a drag, it's fourteen songs that all start blurring into one around the halfway point, it doesn't help that I'm not massively keen on Myles' vocals. Ain't...

    Judas Priest

I'm very much looking forward to saying the same after tomorrow night. :shred:

    Judas Priest

I wouldn't call this unprofessional. Some of those solos are among the best and most iconic in metal, I think it's only fitting to pay tribute to the man who wrote them.

Name your 3 fave yet unplayed songs you would like them to play live

The Parchment There's still slim hope, but I doubt it. I don't think it'd be much of a momentum-killer (in fact, it only builds in momentum until it all bursts in the final section) and it's a nice, easy song for Bruce with some long resting spots. Judas Be My Guide No idea why this never...

    Judas Priest

I don't know if I'd say it's a total rip off, but it made me think of "Seek and Destroy" straight away. The album has a lot of moments that echo other songs, mostly older Priest tunes, and I can't help but wonder if Richie's been instructed/is trying too hard to "make it sound like Priest"...
