100%. Having a more minimalist drumming approach worked fine for Virtual XI--there shouldn't be an issue doing it for a song or two on a new album.

I'll buy any new live album they put out, but I rarely play them, especially if they don't have renditions of songs they hadn't played before (new album cuts, rarities). That's what makes it so frustrating that we're getting one for this tour, yet The Future Past gets ignored.

Ultimately it's up to Nicko and the band, but I personally would've loved an official recording of Nicko doing simplified fills, etc. for posterity. Address it in the liner notes and call it a heroic tribute to his dedication and resolve. But, the window to make that release its most impactful...
