In Maiden you have 3 guitars, 1 bass guitar, and 1 singer essentially competing for the same range of frequencies, which makes them a very difficult band to mix (Pooch is amazing at doing that in a live setting). If you add superfluous and - most of the time - completely unnecessary keyboards, the task becomes even more complicated. Then you throw in Steve as co-producer and you have a recipe for disaster.

For me the best sounding Maiden albums are BNW, FOTD and Powerslave (the next in line are SIT, TNOTB, Killers and Senjutsu) and I'm probably the only one who likes TXF/VXI and DOD productions. Kevin Shirley's albums are far from bad sounding as most fans think. Agree about Pooch.

And they have two albums already, haven't been paying attention obviously.
They're playing Sofia in October the night before Primordial, hope to be there for both.
Pity it's not the same gig, I remember another Sofia night in a lonesome October many years ago with Negură Bunget and Primordial sharing the stage...
How about prowling those two nights, @Night Prowler ?

Unfortunately, I'll be in Budapest that weekend and is almost impossible to make it for both shows :( When was Primordial even announced? Can't find any details about this tour.

Everyone’s entitled to his opinion but ranking Senjutsu as a good sounding album seems weird to me.
