Future History Tours

There are no less than forty 1990s songs I'd love to see live, instead of Fear of the Dark. Not because they're better, just because I am curious about something else.

Hehe you noted well that I counted album songs only. :ok: But indeed, any non-album song (b-sides included) is welcome as well.

One Dutchman is fed up with FOTD, that's for sure :p So you'd rather hear Nodding Donkey Blues than Fear of the Dark?

To the topic: A full-blown 90's history tour would be a big surprise, seeing as few songs from that decade have been played at all since the return of H and Bruce. Are there any other than Fear of the Dark, The Clansman, Sign of the Cross and Lord of the Flies - of which only the first has been played at more than one tour?

However, I do think we should not write off the possibility of seeing a tour with some emphasis on the 90s, with maybe half the setlist consisting of 90s songs.

Besides the songs you mention, Futureal & Man on the Edge returned one more time in 1999.
And Bring Your Daughter .... to the Slaughter returned one more time in 2003.

Whilst I personally think a 90s era history tour would be absolutely worth seeing, mainly on account of some overlooked Blaze songs such as Sign of the Cross and the Clansman, I doubt that Maiden would ever do one because they know as well as us that across the general Maiden fanbase the 90s albums simply aren't as popular.

Why doesn't Bruce and the rest of the band pick up the Unbeliever again? Well then again, I feel bad for posting in this thread, Maiden has done a shit load for us. I mean, a live album and then a Maiden England rehash tour. Amazing!

Okay... here's a question: If Maiden WAS to go on a tour featuring their best songs from the 2000s, what would that setlist look like?

Hmm... very interesting. But I would like to see them play Dream of Mirrors once again. I'd hate for that song to go untouched for so long before they retire in a few decades. :/

I didn't know the setlist before I went, but I knew that Paschendale had been played at a few gigs early on the tour. I was hoping for it, but we got Dance of Death instead (as most did).

But yes, I think that the 2010 tour could almost serve as a 2000s "history tour" as they played songs off all 2000s albums and few songs from the 80s. I doubt we'll see a full-blown "history" tour dedicated to the 2000s, though. But I suspect that the remaining tours, except the upcoming one, will be quite heavy on post-1999 songs.

Well, what Post-1999 songs are you all hoping for on upcoming tours? I'd like to see...

- The Wicker Man
- Dream of Mirrors
- Brave New World
- Out of the Silent Planet
- Wildest Dreams
- Dance of Death
- Paschendale
- These Colours Don't Run
- Brighter Than A Thousand Suns
- The Pilgrim
- The Longest Day
- Out of the Shadows

Any of these will do for me. :P

The Alchemist would be awesome live... but since they didn't play it during their Final Frontier Tour, I doubt it will ever be done live.

If we could have, say, 2 songs from each post-1999 album, I would go for these (a healthy mix of song lengths):

Brave New World + Blood Brothers (both are proven to work great live) - Rainmaker - Paschendale - These Colours Don't Run - Brighter Than A Thousand Suns - Coming Home - Starblind.

A nice surprise would be The Longest Day with loads of pyro and D-day stage props.
