Most underated songs

I think there are many as far as opinions go but I always thought Sea of Madness had an amazing interlude and a bassline that fits the lyrical content perfectly.
Other favorites include The Duelist, The Prisoner, and Only the Good Die Young.
 
Agree entirely on the Prisoner. I would vote for most of DoD, including New Frontier, Age of Innocence, Face in the Sand, and especially Montsegur.

Clairvoyant gets love here sometimes, but I think it's their finest hour.

Longest Day I also think is somewhat underrated, as it gets overshadowed by Paschendale.

I agree with the Duelists as well. That and Sun and Steel.

First time poster here but for what’s it worth I have always loved :-  Still Life,  Children Of The Dammed, Face In The Sand and Childhoods End and although they have played it live a few time one of my favourite’s (not just Maiden but of all time) is Afraid To Shoot Strangers – a top song that I would love to see them perform again!

Man that song is perfection! Begins with spine tingling vocals from Bruce, then in to a Guitar melody plucked straight from the Heavens....  :wub:

In terms of underrated songs - Childhood's End! I'm starting to regret leaving this one out of my top 50!
 
I think that Drifter and Killers are criminally underappreciated. Most of the first two albums, outside of the classics, seem to get short shrift on these forums.

Also agreed, gotta be the best from that album.
 
One song i never see mentioned but love is Out of the Silent Planet. Its a really beautiful song with so many levels of imagery and both light melodies and moments where your hit by crushing hault in the pace with bruce coming in with all the power you could imagine. I would love to see it live some day but... What are the chances really XD
 
Out of the Silent Planet is amazing! I had it in my top 50 but I had to remove it for DoD at the last minute. It would be #51 for me :)
 
I'm a great fan of Dream of Mirrors as well as The Clairvoyant however they don't seem to be as highly regarded as other Maiden songs
 
Most of Killers : Prodigal song, whichic I absolutely love, Purgatory, Genghis Khan... To Tame a Land is one of their greatest song and I think it does'nt get the credit it deserves. And The Fugitive and Childhood's End.
 
I've been posting on Maiden message boards since 1995.  I'm not sure there really are underrated tracks anymore.  Every person's underrated is someone's overrated or just about right rated.
 
There are a lot of underrated songs. But the one I want to mention is The Duellists. Some consider it as a filler, but it's a fabulous song. It's better than Aces High on the same album if you ask me.
 
Since I'm new I'm not 100% sure about you guys but otherwise I feel The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner is pretty underrated as well as Quest For Fire!
