Now Playing (Video Games)

I was telling a friend of mine I feel ZERO shame in looking at online guides. People used to buy Nintendo Power, call their help line, exchange tips on the playground at school. Now we have fan wikis lol.

Outside of a few exceptions (The Witcher III, Alan Wake II), We are definitely looking at the law of diminishing returns from AAA studios. I'm enjoying products from the AA studios like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, War Hammer 40K Space Marine 2 and the indie scene.
Alan wake 2 is good?

Depends who you ask. I really like it. I see it as the culmination of what Remedy was building up to with their other releases. It's their "Avengers" moment, finally bringing everything and everyone together. It is a masterpiece.
A buddy of mine, objectively a bigger gamer and fan of Remedy was disappointed that a game called ALAN WAKE contained very little Alan Wake. He was upset the DLC wasn't Alan Wake focused as well. And fair. The game is called ALAN WAKE 2, but again, it feels more like a team up than a solo adventure. Like Captain America: CIVIL WAR. Sure it has Captain America in it, but it isn't strictly about Cap.

Definitely worth playing either way.

Not only that, many of the games in the 80s and 90s were developed with guides in mind. That's why some games had insanely cryptic optional content, like getting the Excalibur II in FFIX, which requires reaching the final dungeon within 12 hours on the in-game timer.
I found Excalibur with no problem in FF1, NEVER bumped into it in FF2. I'm almost done with FF3, I'm already in Syracuse Tower aaaand.... not a hint of it. I found and fought Odin to get his summon, but that's the only "secret" I've seen so far.

Btw Onhell, are you playing with the original or rearranged soundtrack? Personally I really enjoyed the new arrangements for the most part. The main theme of IV is one of the rare misses, because they put an obnoxious reverb on the snare drum. It's almost painful lol

Good question, I'm playing the Pixel Remasters and didn't change any settings. I am a fan of the music though. Especially one of the dungeon themes from FF1, that bass through my subwoofer still haunts me.
