The lineup is a bit lackluster, while the festival has become very expensive, tickets, camping and logistics all very expensive at this point. It will probably still be sold out or close to sold out, as always though.

Maiden did two nights in Stockholm though Nomadd last year. One night was completely sold out, the second almost sold out, totalling 65-70 000 tickets.

I don't remember any Sweden Rock edition not selling out with Maiden in the bill?
Also: isn't the capacity getting bigger every year?

No, the capacity is not getting bigger every year. The size of it has been pretty much the same for close to 20 years.

I'm sure it got bigger at least once in the past few years (2023 maybe?) . It used to be 33/34k and now it's around 40k. Not much, but still bigger

The economic situation isn't good either. Most people don't think about buying tickets, hard times.

No, but years ago, Maiden was in the other place. People really needed them; the 2026 tour shows an opposite tendency - IM needs people to buy their tickets. There are many cities where sales are under expectations, especially the double dates, which were generally unnecessary and look poor almost everywhere. Dates in Paris, Belgium, Knebworth, Mexico City are a big disappointment. Not necessary, way too big venues. So same if we talk about stadiums, too many, too big. I think double dates in Tokyo are too big, one show in 10k capacity arena would be enough.

But it was last year, I'm talking about sales of the forthcoming 2026 dates. Many things have changed.

I havent seen an iron maiden show with a really bad attendance. Even in their lowest point in 95 to 98 in small venues but not very small always the place was packed. And since 1999 till now they are getting bigger and bigger.

The ticket sales are the most important thing for every artists especially if you're touring stadiums around the world with a 50th Anniversary and big promises from managers. We're talking about sales of almost every tour since the reunion, current topic is nothing new. But the problem is on the other hand. Some people here state they have reliable sources about sales, and criticize person as myself which doubt that. Just the discussion. One of the users tried to insult me for telling about my reflections on the current situation, including the decline of ticket sales and demand for Maiden in many places. Even social media shows much less support for the band than some years ago, even after the pandemic break. The facts show I'm closer to the truth. That's all.

It's quite interesting and you can (could) basically predict what Maiden is (were) going to do using them.
But yeah, this thread became one dedicated almost exclusively to sales for some reasons (mostly because there isn't anything to speculate about)
 
But it doesn’t seem that way — the way you put it, it sounds like the band only had success decades ago. I’d wait for the tour to be over before judging something like that.
 
Well, my theory is regardless of the ticket sales (poor, good, great) if the boys want to tour in 2028 (and beyond) they will tour. If the desire to perform is still there, they will offer us the enjoyment of Maiden live show. And I'm optimistic that we will see another tour from our boys in 2028. Although I would rather prefer to see them in indoor/in arena setting (does La Defense and Stockholm's 3arena qualify as arenas?)

That's exactly what I was talking about. The sales are good, so it makes only sense for them to go for for bigger venues.
Rod actually has mentioned the fact they're going to play stadiums only from now on. Considering this leg is basically a goodbye to festivals, I think he was telling the truth.

If the next one will be their last then it's gonna be Stade de France, MetLife, San Siro and so on all over the world.
 
I wonder if we will get the last announcement before Athens. In 2016 Bucharest wasn't announced before tour start and the date was revealed in the tour programme on opening night in Florida.

Probably they've announced the documentary to increase ticket sales, but (as we see) the cinemas are going to be empty. They should put the documentary on platforms first, to promote the band's anniversary and tour. The cinema screenings were not necessary or important for the fans, especially if we talk about the documentary movie. I think the management isn't happy with the sales of the tour, and should redefine their decisions and plans. With the sales results we might see, there's no reason to do another big stadium tour. I don't believe in their "last and farewell" tour; Steve and Bruce snubbed that option in the past. Some occasional shows here and there are possible. The band stopped attracting new fans, and now their existence is mostly based on sentiment and old supporters.
