I think it's just friendship. Bruce owns the rights to his song and both are his band. For him it also makes sense in terms royalties to release a song under maiden

They dont want to record so another tour with rare songs and other classics should be the option.

Won’t happen. Deep cuts tour may not sell as well. Besides, Steve might say he doesn’t wanna record cause it’s a challenge, etc but he’ll eventually come through. There is 1 more record in em for the road.

Yep. In fact The Future Past tour was in a way a deep cuts tour barring a few tracks (Wasted years, Trooper, Fear of the Dark)

Screw the people. Maiden make music not for the people but for themselves. And a lot of us on this forum love that. So it don’t matter what people say as long as the fans know what’s really behind their music.

I feel If the Fear of the Dark album had massive success and radio airplay in the USA people would have said "sell out", much like Metallica.

Do you think Maiden have a sort of self-reflection or self-homage on their final album similar to Megadeth' final note, Ozzy' mr darkness? I think it would be really cool to have song about/that mentions Eddie - either as a part of their reflection on their legacy or a full song dedicated to his origin or story.

I think this is a great idea for a remarkable final album: finally add Eddie, the not-so-unimportant character, to the characters that appear in Iron Maiden songs!

I always felt the song iron maiden is eddie related apart of his apearence live. "Felt" ,ok? I know that its not a word on there

I don't think Senjutsu had any self-reflection or self-homage. There's a rather high probability of it being the final album, as we haven't heard anything to the contrary.

I don't think a pre-announced farewell tour is their thing. I think they'll just announce after the fact that they've played their final shows.

I hope not. Part of Maiden's appeal is that they (still) haven't stooped to this kind of malarkey (gross self-celebration), at least not directly: I think they have done enough already in this realm by authorising such things as the beer, the video game... better if they keep the artistic output clean from that.

With bruce they did a farewell tour,not a good idea at the moment but this would be different.

And that is a great reason for not doing another, regardless if this would be a different kind of funeral.
