Cathedral

These are 2 Cathedral discography rankings (there are about 3 more, on youtube) might help 'neophytes to get into the coven' and discover this unique, underrated and much needed band, to get back together, on the music world.

I disagree with both reviews but then again everyone has his own preferences. If I was to group the band's releases it would be something like:

Mandatory:
  • "Endtyme", "Soul Sacrifice" (EP), "Forest Of Equilibrium": ("heavy as hell" Cathedral at their best IMO, some borders Death/ Doom).
  • "The Carnival Bizarre", "Statik Majik" (EP), "The Ethereal Mirror": (the "formula" they're most known for at its peak).
  • "The Garden Of Unearthly Delights": (absolutely schizophrenic... all over the place and a win-hands down while doing so).
Strongly Recommended:
  • "The Last Spyre" (Cathedral wanted to go out on a truly heavy and dire note. While a tad bit less stellar, still a great album).
  • "Caravan Beyond Redemption" (In contrast, easily the band's most accessible record. And a pretty awesome one as well).
Great:
  • "Supernatural Birth Machine": (Typical Sabbathesque Cathedral. Overall, a bit derivative, yet featuring some excellent tunes).
  • "Hopkins (The Witchfinder General)" EP: (Some cool experimentations from "The Carnival Bizarre" sessions and a great cover.)
  • "In Memorium" EP/ Demo: (How it all started... a must listen for all fans)
Ok:
  • "The VIIth Coming": Kinda like "Supernatural" yet more predictable and a bit more lackluster.
  • "The Guessing Game": a bit more outside the box with some good ideas here and there. Still kinda few ones for two discs.

Updating my ranking:
