Strong rumour: Maiden to play in 2026 two dates at Puła Arena in Croatia.

This is actually my idea, I suggested this to my friend who organize concerts in Slovenia, about 7 years ago (year or two before covid). I just called him on the phone to see if he was involved in this. He didn't answer the phone, I'll let you know when I find out more.

If these two concerts at Pula Arena really happen, the band should record a live concert video of both concerts and release it on Blu-ray. The ancient Pula Arena is the ideal setting for Maiden, for their concert video. I've been to a few concerts in the Pula Arena, the sound is excellent. Capacity cca 10.000, my opinion is that a third concert could possibly be added.

Why not, I think they could start the tour here.

beautiful place, but it's gonna be hard to set up their production there. not much space and they would have to cut capacity by a lot.

I think the concerts in Pula would be somewhere from early June to early July, I highly doubt they will start the 2026 tour there. There are many things related to organizing the Pula Arena concerts, and certain things are decided by the municipality/mayor of Pula.

Not exactly, only a half of inner space is available for seating capacity of 5k. In 2015 David Gilmour played his full production show with 6500 in attendance (additional seats were put on the groungd area).

I was at that Gilmour concert in Pula. I also saw there Marilyn Manson in 2005 and Simple Minds in 2024.

We saw the Arena when on holiday in Istria last year and it is spectacular, a concert there for Maiden would be a definite for me if i could get tickets.
I did also think it might be a bit small with the size of their stage set up but maybe not.

Duran Duran were playing at the Arena while we were there but we didn`t have tickets.

I dread to think how much Maiden would be charging for the tickets if the capacity is 6500!

The venue is outstanding, that’s for sure.
With floor standing capacity is cca 10.000, 6.500 is with seats at floor area. My friend checked that info few times.
Ticket prices are determined by the organizer, based on the overall concert budget (band fee, advertising, space rental, production costs ...)
and venue capacity.

It would be a pretty spectacular show in that arena though i imagine.

I think Maiden get a bit of bad rap for their ticket prices personally. I have just seen Def Leppard tickets for Sheffield Arena next year, level 1 standard seat, £235 plus fees, jeez.

That still does not make the £100 I had to pay to see Maiden at London Stadium a cheap gig though…

I know very well how the music business works, thank you, but if the band fee is high and the promoter does not want to lose money, tickets are going to be expensive.

Possible exceptions to this could be a significant amount of corporate investment to promote some product, or public money being used to promote the area as a tourist destination for music lovers given that these gigs can benefit the local economy.

This is off topic but The Who just performed two shows in Toronto. The 100 level seats were $610 Canadian (approx $440 USD or 375 Euros). To be clear, those weren't "platinum" tickets - just basic seats! They were lowered to a mere $535 a few days before the show. They had thousands of unsold tickets both nights. (I bought a cheap lawn ticket while I waited in line, and after entry, got upgraded to the 200 level - in theory quadrupling my investment in 10 minutes).

I mean in the last 12 months I've got first row tickets for Alice Cooper (Hammermisth Apollo-London) and Judas Priest-Alice Cooper (O2-London) for 100 pounds or so each. I also got 5th row tickets for Iron Maiden at Waldbuehne (Berlin) for again 100 euros or so. I don't think that's expensive. Last summer I got VIP tickets for a festival in Athens (featuring Judas Priest and Bruce Dickinson) for 150-160 euros or so. IMO all of these are fairly priced and are also the most expensive gigs I attended the last year or so.
