RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Bruce:

''This new tour of ours, which will be coming Stateside, is the most incredible thing we’ve ever done, and people will be blown away by it. This tour has been revelatory, really, in how much fun we’re having on stage. It’s evident in everybody’s playing, and, for what it’s worth, all the reviews and things are off the charts. You can never make everybody happy, but by and large, it’s doing great. We can only guess how great it’s doing in people’s hearts and minds from the reactions we get every night, which are amazing. With a Maiden tour, we’re locked into that set with the show and the lights and everything''.

The fun is evident. One of their best visuals for sure. Most incredible with no props..? About his last comment, even now with the screens? The lights?

What were you expecting him to say? He has always hyped whatever it is he is selling, like a good second-hand car salesman.

I think bashing Ghost, a band whose last video from four months ago was viewed 10 million times, compared to Maiden's "Stranger in a Strange Land" video from last year (2,700,000 views), gives some people an ego boost. This is entertainment, not high art. I'd understand if we were discussing Ghost vs. Johann Strauss, but here we're discussing two bands that could be considered "campy" by those outside their fan base. Some will be entertained by Ghost, others by Maiden. There's no reason to belittle the other's taste.

About this year tour.

I've said this many times – aside from the practical effects, I wouldn't say the level of production during this tour was higher than, say, Judas Priest's tours this year. I'm glad I was in Warsaw because it was a magical experience, but I wonder how much of that excitement is actually a result of experiencing something great and how much is just nostalgia.

My experience of the 2 shows this year were absolutely as you describe , both seeing something new and being excited for it and nostalgia.
I have no problem saying nostalgia plays a part after 40 years of being a fan of Maiden either, but that doesn`t mean i would accept a crap performance from them , which i didn`t get.

On Priest , i saw them in an arena in early 2024 and the screens were ok but nothing special, i would say below what Maiden have just done . Rob is a great frontman and in his 70`s i realise but his static performance with a few coat changes and the usual motor bike gimmick is nowhere near what Bruce still gives performance wise.

Yeah, that's why I said about practical effects (i.e. cage & video during hallowed). But without that I would say that both bands were very close in terms of production.

I don't have anything against that but after claims that this will be the best production ever I must say - Legacy of the Beast and Future Past Tour was lightyears ahead of what we've got this year.

Lightyears no way, the difference in style certainly doesn`t seem to be to everyone`s taste though. I thought the screens were very good , yes could be improved and hopefully might be in time. Legacy was great but this tour being a step down from TFP i don`t see from a stage, production point of view.

I must be one of the few people who didn't adore Legacy as much as the rest. There were some really cool visuals and some of the props like the Icarus figure were awesome, sure. But the low-hanging, inflatable Spitfire was too ridiculous, silly and goofy for my tastes. I get the idea, but it really didn't impress me lol

Legacy tour was probably their very last with more traditional production. Comparing stage constructions and the productions of Priest and Maiden is a little out of reason. Maiden lighting rigs (including the ones around the side screens) are uncomparable bigger and more elaborated than Priests', so same if you compare stage dimentions, pyros, and many screens (7) with a giant one at the back. I attended Priest show in Poland this year and the last IM show in Warsaw. In terms of production the two ones were just a different level. Maiden stage with the side screens is much wider even at indoor arenas. The clips and generally the whole stuff is something to remember in my memories.

I think Revelations , Icarus, sotc on Legacy were so good that i think the whole show gets carried along on it. I loved both 2018 & 2022 versions .

Sigh. Why oh why didn't they release a full concert video, even on Youtube?
Probably they got some in their archives and release that one day in the future, so same as many other goods.
