Couldn't agree more. I don't want the "modern" metal sound where everything has zero dynamics and the recording is pro-tooled to within an inch of its life (i.e. anything in the Sneap style), I just want something clear with some nice effects and crunchier guitars. The fact that they’ve used Kevin Shirley for 25 years suggests they are deaf. Or at least Steve is.
I'll go ahead and say this: I like Modern Maiden more than Classic Maiden and I hope to see a tour in the vein of the current one, where it's from The X Factor to SenjutsuBut ask me tomorrow and I'll give you three different songs. The reunion is simply too stuffed with great material to only pick three.
Honestly, 2 reunion albums are in my top 6, but the rest are 80s albums. I can understand why some people love the reunion stuff.Honestly, if Maiden retired after SSOASS I would return to a few of their albums, but they wouldn't have become one of my favorite bands.
As great and influential the 80s albums are, SSOASS is the only one in my top 5.
There's a Steve-ism in the lyrics that really annoys me
why are both bad Steve-isms about propaganda?!My example of this (from a different song) is the immortal line "they only fill us with the stuff that they want"
