TITANS OF THRASH TOURNAMENT!

Welcome maniacs! The objective of this tournament will be to find the best Thrash Metal album, NOT released by the 'Big 4' of the sub-genre.

I would request all the members to come up with their favourite Thrash Metal albums which aren't by the Big 4 i.e. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. You can submit the names of MAXIMUM 4 albums to me via Direct message, till July 5, 2025.

Once we have the lists with us, we will put albums against each other in a vote-out tournament, in which ultimately the winner will be decided.

If you have any query regarding which bands or albums come under the Thrash metal umbrella, you can definitely discuss here.

Looking forward to it. Cheers!

UPDATE: We are counting ONLY studio albums, so please do not put any EPs, live, compilation or cover albums in your suggestions.

You don't mandatorily have to suggest four albums, it can be minimum one as well. Just not more than four per member.

Mate, I think you need to allow multiple votes if you want to do two matches at the same time, it lets me to vote only for one album altogether.

I wonder if people here are even aware of Havok... One of the finest modern bands carrying the metal torch! (Not to mention, their drummer Pete Webber is one of my favourite metal drummer)

I will just drop one of my favourites by them. They have gotten better with each album but one I nominated still happens to be my fav.

Hi, it's me, I'm the guy who just doesn't much care for Sepultura. And I quite liked that Possessed album when it came up in the GMAC.

Just for the record, I know Havok, they're one of the good bands that helped resurrect thrash metal for the new millennium along with Toxic Holocaust.

But - and I really dislike to be biased regarding my own nomination - the very opening of the Kreator album is

and I really want to hear you denying that this is the best thrash record ever recorded. It's just so fucking balls-ripping, it has no equal, no peer to challenge it.

Boy! You are totally into Annihilator, right?

I remember reading somewhere that Jeff once said, while recording Alice In Hell, they were basically trying to mimic the riffs from The Number Of The Beast album. I don't know how that went into but I just find it cool!

Hard to pick which is my favourite from the two but the one thing I find annoying is that while the modern Annihilator recordings are solid, they hardly have that charm from the first four albums, specially those jazzy breaks in between!

First heard Alison Hell on the Metalopolis show on a Belgian radiochannel mid 90´s. Bought Bag Of Tricks shirtly after and got hooked on those melodies! Jeff Waters is very underrated.

Guess what I found in the mail today...

Somebody, somewhere once told me that Annihilator have yet other albums than these two. I know, what a preposterous idea, I don't know how they possibly could have come to such notion. I don't blame them, it would have been great if the band released something else in the past 35 years, but apparently it wasn't to be. :ninja:

I listened to Refresh The Demon, King Of The Kill, Remains, Criteria and Carnaval Diablos. Some cool tracks on all of those but the first 2 remain vastly superior.
