RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Aces High is always likely, unfortunately
Aces High has gone from being very much missed (no live appearances after 1985 until 1999, and then vanished again for nearly a decade).

To being a highlight in 2008-09, to inexplicably appearing in the 7th Son set (2012-14), to its starring role in Legacy (2018-22).

Best retire it with memories of peak Bruce vocals, I hope we don't hear it again on Tuesday.

You know what's funny..? Of all the issues I'm frantic about - the setlist, the staging, etc...the least element I'm concerned over is Simon Dawson. Having done a fairly deep dive on his playing via YouTube, I'm very comfortable with assuming he can nail the songs. The question will be how quickly he becomes assimilated into the band and acquires an intuitive feel, a groove with them. His decade with Steve will aid in that endeavor, though. I'm really excited to hear how he interprets the material.

So, about that phone thing... Just got back from Ghost (where they locked the phones away) and I completely agree. Phones need to either get away or get to a minimum. This was a fantastic experience! It was like being in a well directed music video where everybody was completely into it all the time. Funnily enough, Tobias refers to the Life After Death video (which he of course was brought up on) when he imagines what he would like the live experience to be going forward. We need this change.

I really can't see Be Quick or Be Dead making it in; Steve once compared it seemingly unfavourably to other Maiden tracks that have more melody in an old Kerrang article. The track has gotten no love or mention from the band since the Raising Hell show in August 1993, and when it appeared on the expanded version of Best of the Beast in 1996. Since then, not one mention. Can't see it happening.
He changed his mind about Icarus, so why not again. It was played. And it's a popular 90's song. Also, they played Caught Somewhere In Time!

I don't think he really did though - Bruce or someone mentioned that FoI on LOTB was somewhere in the middle as a compromise tempo wise, not as slow as it was on the album but nowhere near as fast as they played it live back in the 80s.

A refined version of what they kind of tried with the messy 2050 stage show (Streets of East End) is heavily suggested by the tour promos and having a Powerslave & Seventh Son aesthetics around would give the show some beautiful contrast and set it visually apart from LOTB, although I expect some little tweaks in the stage structure too.
Making the set around the album covers worlds would probably be the best and unique approach (although we had History throwback tours). They didn't do it in 1999 and LOTB to be different. Some little tweaks in the stage structure is curious.

Kind of nervous and excited. Set, songs and ofc Simon. But everything should be great and a true celebration of Maiden's world.
My guess is that it'll still look like a Maiden show we've grown to love, but more in the vein of... you know, some of the "I wish they did something like this..." kind of fantasy stage sets that often popped up in fan forums. :) You know, things that don't quite skyrocket the production costs, but utilize the existing show elements to a bit more grandeur extent and add something new too. Whatever it'll be, I hope we'll see more physical, three-dimensional structural props, which could (if done subtly) mask the sleek and "boxy" shape of the good-old stage structure a little bit.
They want to make it different, so they need something new and not just backdrops. 3D stuff, animated clips, why not.
Seriously, I don't know but I hope they bring a fantastic lighting set up like the 80's and pyro effects
They'll need those features big time to create the vibe. Multiple screens will replace everything.
Still Life and Boots are more likely than Sun and Steel imo.
I think a song like Children of the Damned is more likely than No Prayer to slow things down a bit. Even Afraid (again) or Wasting Love are more likely imo. Bring Your Daughter, as much as I don't like it, is the only No Prayer song that could feature imo, that's why I want them to skip this album.
Still Life more likely than Sun And Steel, idk now. I really hope they won't favor Children or Afraid instead of another rare slow song. Every set needs some ''deep'' cuts. They know that and it would be fresh for them. The point of this tour is to have song from all 9 albums.
If not "BQOBD" or "Aces High," what would you guys like as an opener..?
For me, the opener for this tour should be one of these:

Be Quick
Prowler
Trooper
Phantom

Prowler's spot could depends on the ''worlds'' idea (as an encore again would be nice), while idk how Phantom would be as an opener. I'm ruling out stuff like Aces, Moonchild, Number, Eagles, Tailgunner, even Murders. Wrathchild is curious, Evil could work too. And Sanctuary.
Aces High is always likely, unfortunately
I like to think that this time not.

100% Still Life is more likely than Sun and Steel. Still Life was played in the 80s at least. Sun and Steel is not Alexander.
Also the point of this tour is greatest hits, so they had to include Fear in it. I don't think they even care about most of the material in No Prayer/Fear. These albums are nothing like modern era Maiden.
I hope they don't play Children or Afraid again. I like the songs, but I want something different.

So from Fear they will play only title song??? I don't thing so Be Quick is fan favorite and metal community loves that song too. For many people second best opener after Aces High....and no, Aces High will not open Run for your lives tour

I don't understand people's obsession with BQOBD. I remember lot of fans predicted it to be included in the Legacy of the Beast setlist for some reason and now with this tour also. Sure, it's fast little opener, but is it really that popular to be in the setlist? I don't think so. As an opener I would prefer Phantom, Trooper or Prowler. But if I have to choose between Aces or BQOBD then yes BQOBD gets my vote.

100%.
I hope it is Prowler, obviously. The Trooper could work, I guess.

is anyone following ETHFC on Instagram? It’s official Eddie the Head fan club with all Eddie arts. They’ve been posting Eddie images of late with lyrics from songs at random. This was something similar Maiden did for the Senjutsu release. Guessing they’re hinting at songs that will be played on tour. So far the songs are:

1. JUDAS BE MY GUIDE
2. Infinite dreams
3. 22 Acacia Avenue
4. Phantom of the Opera
5. Aces High
6. Killers
