RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Has the possibility of Maiden bringing a live orchestra on the road this year been mentionned already? That would certainly blow people's mind and be something the band has never done before. I'd love that for sure.
I don't know if it would be realistic for a whole tour, but as a special 1-off (or a run of nights..) that would be insanely cool.. Imagine Rime, middle section, with orchestral instrumentation.

I'd like that, but not for an entire stadium tour. They could do that in the future and pick songs from their entire discography that would sound great with an orchesta. It would be so so cool. Maybe a run of nights in London or something.

Man I wish to see them doing something similar to Metallica's S&M. Imagine Rime, Alexander or Seventh son. Talking about later stuff, songs from DOD would fit amazing and of course - Empire of the clouds.

Time to bust out a hot take:

Many metal songs that were not written with orchestration in mind do not in fact benefit from getting an orchestra involved and in the vast majority of cases result in inferior versions.

We had a thread last year or so, where a pretty good Maiden tribute band gave a concert and they had an orchestra. For most of the songs it felt really gimmicky and didn't fit the material. Stuff like Run To The Hills or TNOTB sounded like the worst of both worlds; the original energy of a metal band was gone, the depth an orchestra can provide wasn't used.
The only songs that actually sounded good were stuff like Blood Brothers, which has a bare minimum of strings that can be arranged pretty easily, and other mostly post-reunion epics. Bonus points for writing a unique, orchestra-only intro for Wasting Love. That was pretty cool.

I don't want violins to simply copy the lead melody, basses and brass to follow the bass line, or the celli to mimick some of the guitar riffs. That's boring and a waste of an orchestra. I'd want the strengths of all the orchestral instruments to be considered and used effectively. I somehow doubt that Maiden would approach such an endeavor with the care that it deserves.

I love Maiden and the majority of my music listening involves orchestras and choirs in some way, but as it stands now I don't want these two ideas to be combined.

Hell on Earth with a live orchestra would be perfect. It's true rockers like RTTH, TNOTB, IM etc won't benefit from an orchestra.

Agreed with @Vaenyr !
What's the point to let classical instruments follow the vocal or guitarlines? A trumpet playing Run To The Hills chorus would sound horrible, way too odd. Better let them play chords or notes that fit the music instead of copy the existing ones. A bit like what Evergrey did on A Night To Remember with a string orchestra. There it works perfectly!

Sadly no new photos with bananas, but the band will stay in Split up until May 25th.
Wonder if they have time for two rehearsals in Budapest or will it only be one on the 26th. Seems like little time for production rehearsals for their biggest show ever.

They’ve fooled us again. The big production twist? A return to roots. The show will be stripped down, with all the gear compact enough to fit into a barroom setup. Eddie? Just a mask on the drummer’s head.

Maybe with the new production (like, more screens and digital stuff) it's easier to rehearse it? I guess so.

The crew will build and try out the stage production way before Maiden will go to the venue.
The band already know what's going on, they just need one day to do a proper rehearsal with the full stage. That's usually when fans overhear something from the arena.

So... if they’re trying out the stage production inside the arena, it means... the stadium show might end up being underwhelming again..
