Last round was crazy hard. Meat Loaf is pretty underrated around here and that song is so epic, but I'll Wait is one of my all time favorites.
 
Don't like Clapton's arrangement here, so I'm defaulting to U2.
I suspect I would tire of "Crazy On You" if I heard it as many times as I've heard "Wonderwall", but happily I haven't.
"Free Fallin'" is that one Petty song that sticks in my head.
Meat Loaf is kinda fun, Van Halen are boring.
 
Crazy On You has one of the best intros ever. It made me realize how cool the acoustic guitar is.

Edit: it's also probably my favorite vocal performance from Ann Wilson. Her voice is delightfully smooth on it.
 
U2 again, despite it being one of the Joshua Tree 'hits' I find over hyped.

Heart because I like whatsername's voice and there's a nice guitar bit in the middle. Plus they're not Oasis. I was once at a student party where Wonderwall was played constantly all night. Because, like, wow, what a song. It's like, so deep. :huh:
Also, I can't hear it without thinking of this:

Tom Petty, because that's a rather memorable song.

Van Halen, because I quite like this one and don't like the fiftiesesque thing that Meatloaf does.
 
The Petty and Heart songs are awesome.
Paradise is a memorable, fun song and deserves to stick around, but I'll Wait is among Van Halen's best.

Great Stones song from Goat's Head Soup sessions. Glad it got out on the Tattoo You album. But the U2 is grander still. With Or Without You

Can't stand the S&G song, and the Nirvana song is one of their best. All Apologies
 
I like the steady build-up of the U2 song.

"My Generation" is a deserving classic.

Under Pressure is fucking awesome and Billie Jean might be the best song of its genre (which isn't Classic Rock).
Other two matchups are meh.
 
Personally every pairing this round was a juggernaut against a song I don't care for in the least.
