I actually don't mind ELO, but they seem to be getting deservedly slaughtered in this game.
Floyd by a Whisker in a battle of two songs I'm not sure what I feel about.
Like Old Man, but Thunder Road might be my favourite Springsteen song, particularly the live version.
Great Stones over overrated Halen

It's impressive how Alex is drumming here, but the rhythm gets annoying after a minute (or even earlier). Now if there was anything (else) appealing going on (e.g. a nice melody), but alas.

When you look at all sorts of music, I agree. But in Van Halen I prefer it. Still, and I am trying hard: I do not find the riffs and solo kick ass. This:

It's only rock and roll (and I do not like it)

They drew very tough opponents.

It's worth noting that as we move into higher top seeds in the first pair, it's generally expected that the top song crushes the bottom song in that pair. I predict only one more upset remaining in those matches (#23 could lose to #490). The last three pairs each day remain interesting, though.

My votes:

First pair is very tough. Don't Stop Believin'
That's a lovely Beatles song, but the VH rocks harder. Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
Can't stand this Seger song. Black Water
Last pair is also tough, but ultimate Beatles beat blues. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

Not Pink Floyd.
Not Van Halen.
Tougher, but I like the Metallica version of Turn the Page far more than the original, and early Doobie Brothers rule.
ZZ Top!

Journey barely beats Floyd.
Wow, tough matchup. VH track kicks ass, but "In My Life" is amazing. Better melody wins.
Right after making fun of Bob Seger, I'm voting for him. Don't like "Black Water" at all.
Another toughie - LSD is showing its age, but tush never goes out of style.

I would rather listen to all four sides of Metal Machine Music than "Don't Stop Believin'".
One of the best Beatles songs.
"Black Water" wastes slightly less time.
I like the ZZ Top song, but marmalade skies are timeless.

My votes:

Beatles, easy. (A reminder, the top pair every day is a top seed vs cannon fodder, and those top seeds getting higher every day. There probably won't be exciting battles there, sorry. Let the wookie win.) A Day In The Life

Second pair is very tough. Good FF song, one of their best through that album. However, monster live jams on Whipping Post are the stuff of rock legend. Whipping Post

I really love Rebel Yell. I wish I could vote for it, but the REM song has always blown my mind. Losing My Religion

Janis by a mile. Me And Bobby McGee

"A Day in the Life" vs. Doobie Brothers? Ha!
The Brothers whip the Fighters.
I never had a religion to lose, so I'll just cry out a "Rebel Yell".
Love is tearing me apart here, but I like Joy Division more.

Beatles, Foo Fighters (Seriously, one of my favourite mainstream songs of all time), REM, Janis.
