For some odd reason even though I'm 22 I am obsessed with reliving the "good ol' days" when in fact I'm still supposed to be living them. This obssesion has driven me to download countless ROM files of NES and Genesis games, Metal versions of game tunes and constant day dreaming. I bring this up because while I was looking up the anti-semetism topic for Charlotte it was very interesting and a good trip (usually) down memory lane to read old posts and discussions. For one I used to argue better two years ago then I do now... but in any case who else revisits old posts or has a tendency to space-out to the past?

I thought the forum could use a "happy" topic [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
 
Frankly, I'm 15. If i start living in the past from now, it means i have serious issues. Altough when the exam was nearing we used to walk down memory-lane and we would remember how cool the sixth grade was... it didn't last for long though
 
I guess it depends on your personality. Some people like to move on and not look back. Others, including me, like to look back. And that need not only be one's own past, but life in general, and culture, society.
Also it has to do with the ability to appreciate the moment, the present. Which I certainly do. Living in the past can be comforting but it also holds the danger of giving up on the present.
That doesn't prevent me from enjoying my own memories and nostalgia in general. I also have the age for it though... [!--emo&;)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
 
I'm not that old, but still I find it entertaining to think back on how I was 5-6 years ago. i.e. I used to love MacGyver! (still do so, btw) He was my childhood hero, what a fantastic guy.

And at the age of 11-12 I actually liked Britney Spears [!--emo&:blush:--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/blush.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blush.gif\' /][!--endemo--] And not only for the looks, but for the music aswell! Quite terrifying I tell you, when I think back on what sort of music I thought was "the best in the world" at that time. A couple of those BSB songs were not that bad either. But that is a part of growing up, eh? (at least, I was never into techno or Spice Girls)

Another strong memory from my early days is the best tv-show, next to MacGyver of course: Power Rangers! Had the biggest sticker collection in my entire neighbourhood [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Wow, all this thinking back makes me feel so old, and I'm not even old enough to by my own beer [!--emo&^_^--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
 
I am sometimes a very nostalgic person. I love to do things that remind me of my childhood and early youth... I enjoy playing arcade games from the early nineties and stuff like that. I love to think of the things that happened and do a lot of things out of nostalgia (visiting places I have fond memories of, for example), but I don't live in the past.
 
Definately I do.
I play NES games any chance I get, I read the books from my childhood, I even listen to the music I listened to in high school.

I'm a ripe old 21 years.

/hates those damn kids on the lawn
 
I'm 17 and...

- The only computers I have other than my PC are my Sega Mega Drive and my Spectrum ZX81.
- I have a video recorder in my room (no DVD player!) and spend most of my time watching '80s UK comedy/children's programmes.
- I have more tapes than CDs.
- My favourite instrument other than my Spanish guitar is my Casio SA-1 portable keyboard.
- My joint-fave album is Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd which I have on tape (the other is Selected Ambient Works 2 by Aphex Twin which is a bit more recent)

I suppose I live in the past in some ways...

I didn't have a DVD player until about last December!

Best album ever indeed! My parents had it on vinyl so I copied it onto tape but my tape player stopped working (once it started playing side two when it should play side one, then lots of distorted noise and then the tape came out broken) so I had to buy it on CD.

I'm not exactly living in the past but I do like a lot of old stuff. For example two of my favourite movies are His Girl Friday (1940) and A Night at the Opera (1935) and my favourite decade for music would be the seventies...
 
I've got The Darkside Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here on vyinl... and they sound great! I'd say, even better than on CD, more natural feeling and sound...
 
I've got a lot of stuff on vinyl- most of my Pink Floyd albums for example. Some albums just lose their feeling on CD.

I don't know. I've never felt this way. Music can give me a feeling regardless of the media. Be it vinyl (not anymore...), CD or mp3 format. [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
