The Plumber Of The East
The idea of this song was basically around a recurring nightmare Steve Harris had. His whole bathroom was filled with water and Steve tried to swim his way out before drowning. All of a sudden a Polish plumber appeared and fixed all the leaks. Steve was so thrilled with this quick solution but then noticed he had to pay him 666 € (Another shock for Steve that it wasn't in English pounds!) He woke up in sweat and wrote the song. The rest is history: it became one of the many classics of the band.
The Mime Of The Patient Foreigner
This song was written by Steve and Nicko after visiting a market in Belgium. On this market they met a mime artist who could stand still just like a statue.
Both Steve and Nicko were so impressed they wrote one of their longest epics (3 minutes longer than Operation:Mindcrime Of The Clouds!) about this experience. It even features a Neil Peartish drumsolo of Nicko using the soles of his old boots (the ones from Mission From 'Arry) to create an eerie atmosphere. The release of the Showerslave album was overshadowed by a lawsuit started by Mick Jones of the band Foreigner. Steve Harris' reaction was cold as ice:
The Clamsman
Every real fan knows former Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley likes a fair amount of seafood.
Songs like Crab On The Edge and Lord Of The Shrimps, both from The Y Factory album, are based upon the mans eating habits. But the song that praises seafood the most is The Clamsman! It can be found on Virtual Eel-evven (notice the pun of another one of Blaze’s fish friends) and is a true epic in the vein of Swallowed Bee Thy Name! (the classic song about a religious insect eater)
Sing This, Khan!
After the departure of Paul (who is now their attorney) they still needed vocals for one more song on the Fillers album. Steve wanted former Spamalot-singer Troy Khan but he didn’t want to do it.
BREAKING NEWS! Iron Maiden have been asked to write the song for the new James Bond movie…again! – Iron Maiden will write the theme song for the new James Bond (starring Rowan Atkinson as James Bond for the third time in a row) No Time To Die With Your Boots On. They allready have written songs for several other James Bond movies like: Dr. No More Lies, Remember Tomorrow Never Dies, The Man Who Would Be King With The Golden Gun, Licence To Killers, The Strange World Is Not Enough and Steve Harris’ personal favorite From Mother Russia With Love. Rumors are that Nicko McBrain will be starring in this new movie instead of David Carradine.

Steve Harris said:We asked our band attorney P. Di'Anno to defend us. He gave us the advice to rename a few of our new songs to prevent us from future following claims.
So we had to come up with different titles for songs such as No Slayer For The Dying, Back In The Village People, When The River Runs Deep Purple, Faith No More Lies and Where The Eagles Dare.

Blaze Bayley said:There was magic in the air while recording the song. I was convinced The Clamsman would turn out into a fan favorite and a song to play live for years to come. Imagine the crowd singing the chorus with me: “Seafoood! Seafoood!”

Steve Harris said:I really wanted Troy to sing this song, I mean: it would’ve been perfect for his voice. We made a recording with Scream Theater-singer James LaCamembert but to be honest I didn’t like his voice at all so we decided to keep it instrumental.
