Visual aspect of the band

A hollow universe in space
Been thinking about this for a while... Do you think Iron Maiden's album covers represent, in anyway, the musical tone of the album itself?

To me, they do. And to you?

I think they usually represent the tone of the title track, and not much else. Sometimes there's a couple songs that fit that "theme" (i.e. TFF has the title track and Starblind), but usually it's just representative of the main track.

Some of them do. Powerslave as a track had a nice almost Arabian tone in Dave's guitar solo and the song and album theme were ancient Egypt. Loved it.
Somewhere in Time probably nailed it the best. Outer space looking cover with futuristic sounding guitar synths and the sound of those GK 250 MLs was amazing! Time travel themed song titles and all around a great album and nearly seemed like a concept album too

I actually think about the album covers when i hear the albums for some reason lol

But i agree with SIT album comment

The covers occasionally capture a mood, but not really themes. The X-Factor is a perfect example of capturing the mood - the whole albums feels dark, loosely animated, and rusty. :)
