VH1 Goes Maiden!

Those who watch VH1 might be familiar with their amusing adds featuring animals singing popular songs. The ones I remember are Culture Club's "Chamelean", GnR's "Welcome to the Jungle" and... well there's another one i'm sure. However their last adition is Great: Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills"!!! that's right! they animated the chorus and it's hilarious. Also, they are currently running VH1's 100 Most Metal Moments (mostly American and British pop 80's metal moments) but they play "run to the hills" for background music very often. Pretty sweet I think. [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Hmm..I live in Canada, Ontario, and on MMM (Much more music), and they play a lot of stuff from VH1 on there, hopefulyl I'll be able to see this. [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--] I love seeing Maiden on TV, 'cuz it's so rare in CAN, since they're not too popular here. I'm the biggest fan in my school. One of like.... 10 who know of them. Hmm... 10/900.

The animation is actually about 6 months old - VH1 is just running it often during their "most metal moments" series. While VH1 doesn't play Maiden videos nowadays, they did help Maiden out in 2000 by running The Wicker Man video very often and sponsoring the US leg of the BNW tour.

For those who may never get to see this animation: the animals singing "Run To The Hills" are cats, being chased by mice and fish apparently out for revenge.

I watched all of those "most metal moments" and was disappointed not to find any Maiden metal moments. [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Half of the moments involved Motley Crue.

VH1 has also been playing that Run to the Hills video a lot lately. It's showed at the end of a lot of shows, in commercial breaks, or just whenever.

Stranger - I bow before your ATHF signature. [!--emo&--]/bowdown.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'bowdown.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
"Getting what you want is easy. Filling it with illegal drugs and taking it across the border is not."

Of course the writers for that show are geniuses though. They have to be to be able to come up with brilliant ideas like reverse vampires, 2D aliens from the moon, and a new birthday song sung by Zakk Wylde. The animations you are talking about can be found at...

I'm not sure if the "VH-1 Metal Moments" are on the site. This is the animator's personal site. There is some hilarious stuff on there.

yeah, that's the charecters alright, but I can't find the videos that play on vh1.

Me too [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I saw that "Run To The Hills" animation again last night, and now I'm not sure what is chasing the cats. One of them looks kind of like a giant scorpion, another looks like a deformed turtle. But whatever those things are, it's apparent from the end of the animation that only Dave Murray's guitar solo can defeat them. [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Well i'm sad to say Metal's stint on VH1 is over and was short lived... Well I'm not that sad because like someone else said before it was mainly Motly Crue crap. I am sad to see the Run To The Hills animation go though [!--emo&--]/mad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'mad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] wait that's angry... [!--emo&:(--]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--] that's sad *sigh*

True, but again... not enough. Now the only show I can kinda, sorta, not really, Might as well look forward to is "I Love the '90's" The only reason I love the 80's was so enjoyable was because my older brother introduced me to a lot of that stuff (like Atari which I would have never heard of). I love the '70's sucked ass. How can they spend 2 SECONDS talking about Black Sabbath and all the comments being "oh they scare me", "they're scary", "oh I stay away from them" and then proceed to talk about the PET ROCK for 5 MINUTES!!!!! that was BS.

[!--QuoteBegin-StrangerInAStrangeLand+Jun 16 2004, 11:47 PM--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE(StrangerInAStrangeLand @ Jun 16 2004, 11:47 PM)[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--] Yeah, "I Love the 70's" blows. "I Love the 80's" is good but "I Love the 90's" will probably suck too because the 90's did indeed suck.
NO WAY MAN!!! the 90's didn't suck! We had NKOTB, loads of grunge, The uprising of electronic dance music...... wait.... you're right, dude, the 90's sucked big time! [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

(let's not, however, forget some of the highlights of the 90's; X Factor being one)
