I probably like a higher percentage of VHI than AFD but the better stuff on AFD is a good bit better.

Van Halen is overrated and I haven't been able to get into their albums. GNR on the other hand are worthy of their hype imo

VH debut is so praised mainly due to inventive and groundbreaking guitar work. That album changed hard rock.
Appetite wasn't innovative, it was just another hard rock album, but it rocked for sure.
