Yax
Ancient Mariner
This review is written by "Aftonbladet" which I have Translated into English. Enjoy!
Mighty, Maiden!
The swedish newspaper ”Aftonbladet” got an exclusive listening of the new album.
It’s a lot of curves. A lot of melodies. And very, very Maidenish.
Here you go - This is how the new album will sound like.
"Aftonbladet” has as the only Swedish newspaper been allowed to listen to the Heavy Metal giants upcoming album in a studio 90 minutes from London. What we will hear is the result of two months work earlier this year, when the band recorded their new album (number 14) with the producer Kevin Shirley.
And, there’s no doubt if you like Brave New World and Dance of Death, then the new cd will be like an old friend who pats you on the shoulder.
Iron Maiden continues on the more progressive road, where the material shifts between soft and hard. Just one track – the opening “Different worlds” is shorter than five minutes, when the albums mastodon track “For the geater good of God” is almost nine and a half.
The album’s big, bigger biggest in every aspect. Without a real exception.
Much Maiden
Friends of grand arrangements will be constantly teased by the songs. The songs are reusing the komplex structures the band’s always used. Then add a ballad like “Children of the damned” and Bruces solotrack “Tears of the Dragon” in “Out of the Shadows” and then you have a bit of and then you have an album wich requiers industrious chewing to digest completely.
