Upcoming 2007 events.

Albie

Keeping an open eye on the Weeping Angels.
Just thought I'd ask what people here are looking forward to this year, be it album releases or gigs, etc.

As a starting point, although nothing (I believe) is even rumoured, I dare say we could well have the second Maiden history DVD this year - so that is one thing to look forward to. But Maiden at "some muddy filed in England" sounds intriguing, if I had the money, though, I will be on that Bruce Air's flight to Dubai in March.

Celtic Frost and Kreator are doing a tour together across Europe. Now that sounds very interesting and hopefully I'll pop down to the Camden Town gig.

The reformation of Sabbat should give us some live shows and - possibly - new material?

Anything else?

New Maiden is a must, although I doubt I'll get to see them play in 'a muddy field'...nor will they come to the Emerald Isle, I don't think.

In terms of new albums, I've listed some of the ones I'm looking forward to in the Maidenfans Choice thread.  But, they are;

-Megadeth's new album
-Judas Priest's new album
-Nightwish's new album
-Iced Earth's new album
-Dark Tranquillity's new album
-Therion's new album

Many of those above I will have to download before I buy, to make up my mind.  The DT, the Therion and the Priest (and possibly Megadeth) are winners, though; I'll be buying those on launch, if I can. :D

Also, there are some that I will look at, but may not get around to, such as;
-Ensiferum's new album
-Wintersun's new album
-Tristania's new album

Among others.  I don't know about events, but if Priest do their 'Nostradamus' tour across Europe this year, they'll be hitting the Odyssey, methinks. :D

Axl Rose is supposed to release Chinese Democracy in March.

And, even if it really happens this time, does anyone care any more?

Indeed! My main hope for 2007 is that Sabbat might pay a visit to Ireland, and if not, I'll be flying to England to see them for sure.

HammerFall are playing here for the first time ever, and as I used to be a huge HF nut, I'll head to these (hopefully they'll play some of their good material ;)), Necrophagist make a welcome return in February so I shall probably go see these also, and 3 Inches Of Blood are also making a visit in March, so I shall have a busy first few months.

The main CD releases that I'm looking forward to are:
Nomad Soul - Pale Horizons
Mass Extinction - Second EP, yet to be titled (or recorded for that matter, lazy bastids :P)
And the new Priest album.

I'd love to see the Kreator and Celtic Frost tour, but sadly all the available dates were booked up, and they can't make it over here.

I don't think they'll make the same mistake twice, and we have The Point down here. ;)

The final, but possibly most important piece on my list, would be the Early Days Part 2 DVD, if it is anywhere near as good as Part 1, I'll be ecstatic!

In 2007 Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John paul Jones are all supposed to release a solo album... The remains of Led Zeppelin... in three pieces...

  ... and pigs will land on the moon!

I just got to iced earth albums for Christmas and I really like the sound even though some of the lyrics are rather cheesy so I’m looks forwarded to there new Cd and of course the new Judas priest and mega death albums. But the one I’m mostly looking forward to is Nomad souls album freaky was kind enough to send me a few tracks and I’m loving them cant stop listing to them its going to be great! :yey:

What metal events am I looking forward to? That's a good question to ask me since I'm under the impression that Ragnarok is coming for the genre. Anyways, I'll be looking forward to:

Immolation's upcoming mini-CD and full-length album.
Summoning's upcoming mini-CD.
The Chasm's upcoming full-length album.

I know it's easy to say "nothing good ever comes out these days", but I can identify with the people who say that, at least there being a bit more realistic. I personally find the people who say "there's so much good stuff coming out these days" to be far more irritating.

Looking forward to Priest's new album and the second part of Maiden's History DVD series. :ok:
