I havent seen Airbourne live so thats a result for me? just one support act this year? sorry for being greedy but i thought Maiden usually had 2 support acts?

Lauren Harris? ;)

It's a real shame that Airbourne won't be at the London shows, as I'd like to see them again. Dragonforce and Trivium, no thanks very much.

Lauren Harris? i like that radical thinking. I saw Trivium at NEC in 06 for the AMOLAD tour. They werent that bad, however, Within Temptation and Dream Theater at Paris 05 was awesome!!! :edmetal:

i could think of bands id rather see and alice cooper continuing on into UK would have been slightly better but hey, im interested about dragonforce live at belfast mainly to see who they get ahold of as a vocalist having parted with the last.
Manchester support couldve been better (never taken aibourne too seriously, much like themselves -_-) still better than sweet savage though... overall not too bad but not amazing either and all i can say about trivium is... im not a fan of 'the cores' atall some trivium songs are OK but i cant imagine them and maiden fitting together on one stage if you get my meaning.  ::)

I saw Trivium before Maiden in 2006 and thought they were meh. Same with Avenged Sevenfold in 2008. Dark Tranquility were awesome, though. Looking forward to see Alice Cooper with them this summer.

Recently there have been more tours with only one support band than with two.

Dark Tranquillity (two l's by the way :P) are in a completely different league than Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium, I don't understand why Maiden don't try to get more bands like them as openers.  I'm seeing Alice Cooper open for Maiden already a second time, also much more fun than Avenged Sevenfold. :)

I finally checked out Airbourne and I don't think they're as bad as some of the other support bands Iron Maiden have had recently (Rise to Remain, Bullet for my Valentine) but they are nothing special, essentially an AC/DC covers band. London are welcome to Trivium but I'd prefer Dragonforce to Airbourne because they'll have a new singer by then.
