Transfering and Mastering MD recordings....how?

Ok folks

I'd like a 'Creating Bootlegs for Dummies' guide from someone here please!

Can someone tell me what software and what leads i need to transfer a MD recording to my PC and then how to master it?

Has someone written a guide somewhere?!
