First one is a great matchup: two very memorable melodies, two very different, yet distinct feels.
I prefer the blue sky afternoon vibe of two over the exotic sunset tone of one.

Three is cool metal chase tune, but I'll take four because everyone knows the Dutch always wait until the final four before they lose :innocent:

I was waiting for this: Summer fucking Song. I have started to love the song so much since it was in the previous phase. One of the best Satch songs: brilliantly constructed, brilliant melodies and brilliant guitar tone. Beck's Bolero isn't bad but no match for the great yellow Summer Song.

Not much to say about the second pair. I just don't find Beyond the Ice that good a Power Metal track. Although the drum intro and the 2:45 harmony are nice, it's too generic overall.

As a sidenote, I (and many others) seem to be voting for songs 2 and 4 quite often. You must be pairing them up like that, Foro! ;)

2 and 4. That's easily my favourite Satch song of the tournament. Second pair was a tougher choice, and I really don't care for the yodelling and stuff, but musically, 4 came off better.

The best Satch song of the game is IMO already out. :/ (Time Machine)

This one is like Locked In but ten times less catchy. I even prefer the Priest solos.

Satriani isn't worthy to carry Jeff Beck's guitar strap. #1.

Don't love either #3 or #4. I am a huge Blind Guardian fan, but this isn't one of my favorite tracks. Hocus Pocus has a great guitar riff, but the yodeling is insufferable. Also, yodeling are vocals...THIS ISN'T AN INSTRUMENTAL!! #3

Interesting. In my opinion, Summer Song is catchy as hell.
It doesn't have a bridge and chorus as in Locked In, which are imo some of the most catchy pieces of music on the planet. The Satch song sticks mostly at the
Locked In-ish couplets plus some rock and rollish variations (which in essence don't feel that different). It's the type of music that you hear in computer games or as a backing track to sport blunder compilations on Eurosport or whatever channel. Monotone music.

I admit that in this case the battle is not vs Locked In but it's against the Jeff Beck track which is also not a song with much variety, nor does it possess spellbinding melodies. Still, I particularly like the middle part with the heavy guitar sound.

I am not that fond of both so I don't really mind which goes out at this point.
