Alright folks, The Beatles survivor is winding to a close which means it's time to prepare for the Worst Song Ever survivor. This game will include 100 songs and use a head to head format. Some songs will be pulled from recent survivors, but I'll also be accepting nominations. Which is where you guys come in! Here are the guidelines for nominations:

  • Each user gets TEN nominations only. Please submit them in a top ten format in one post, anything else will not be counted.
  • The following bands are going to have songs selected already:
  1. Queensryche
  2. Blaze Bayley
  3. Bruce
  4. Iced Earth
  5. Metallica
  6. Sabaton
  7. Iron Maiden
  8. Black Sabbath
  9. Dream Theater
  10. Van Halen
  11. GNR
  12. Pink Floyd
These are all bands that had recent (somewhat popular) survivors and I discourage people from nominating songs from these bands. If you insist though, I'd check the results threads for these games to see what low ranking songs are (because those will likely be included) or pm me asking if the songs are included yet.

  • Please read the lists that have been posted already. Don't repeat songs, that will not increase the chance of a song being included and I'll ignore any lists with duplicate songs.
  • Please do NOT nominate songs from bands you dislike. The point of this game is to find the worst song among good bands. There's no fun in just using this as an opportunity to rag on bands. For example, I won't be nominating Testament songs and Night Prowler won't be nominating Genesis songs. This will apply to voting too; don't vote for songs just because you dislike the band. Youtube links will be provided to listen.
  • Try to post your lists quickly! After 10 lists have been posted I'm probably going to lock the thread and not accept anymore nominations. This might change depending on how many songs I need, but as of right now it's 10.
And that just about covers it. Let me know if you guys have any questions or need some clarification on something. May the worst song win! :D

Edit: There's no limit to number of songs you can nominate from a band, but I'd like there to be a variety here so try to keep it to only one or two per band!

And yea you guys can edit your lists as much as you want until I close the thread.
 
Twilight Zone? That's a bad song?

I guess my picks for Metallica would be Purify and All Within My Hands. My Maiden picks would be Weekend Warrior, Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger and The Apparition.

St. Anger has a lot of stuff worthy of being here. Purify, All Within My Hands, Invisible Kid, My World, Shoot Me Again are all terrible.

As for nominations, I don't really have anything in mind. Some songs from Demolition by Judas Priest surely have to be here but don't know which ones.
 
The worst song ever is "What's Going On" by Four Non-Blondes. But that violates the rules. So, here's my list. I assume "top ten format" means you put the very worst song at the top -- if I've got that backward, let me know and I'll reverse my list so you don't have to.

2. I Could Have Been a Dreamer, Dio
3. Revolution #9, Beatles
4. Faithfully, Journey
5. Staying Power, Queen
6. Rock Me Tonite, Billy Squier (video killed his career)
7. Theatre of Pain, Blind Guardian
8. Pressed Rat and Warthog, Cream
9. This Is England, The Clash (the whole Cut the Crap album was an abomination)
10. Get Down Make Love, Queen
 
What's so wrong with Theatre Of Pain?

I wanted to pick And Then There Was Silence, but it would've been too controversial.

Yea, for this to get the best results, it'd be good not to pick songs that most people enjoy. For example, Hallowed Be Thy Name wouldn't be a good pick.

Fine I'll be nice to Chameleon and only name 3 songs from it ( I could easily name 6 songs from it).

Black Sabbath - Disturbing the Priest
Judas Priest- Devil Digger, although ANYTHING from Demolition could go here.
Helloween - Windmill
Helloween - I Don't Wanna Cry No More
Helloween - Revolution Now
Gamma Ray - Pray
Gamma Ray - To The Metal
Stratovarius - Holy Light
AC/DC - Love Song (Kissin' Dynamite is also worse than Money Made)
Ozzy Osbourne - Gets Me Through (although most from Ozzmosis or Down to Earth could make it on here)

And I won't mind if entire albums like Demolition, St Anger, Dedicated to Chaos make it in the game.

I know Aerosmith hasn't been a good band for decades, but that may be the worst song ever.
And at least half my list has a definite theme: Good '70s bands getting sucked into '80s schlock.

Tai Shan is one of those notoriously bad songs, so it'll likely be included as well as the top song(s) on your list. Same thing with Asshole on NP's list.

These lists are fine for now but anyone who doesn't have 10 songs, please get your lists up to that number, it'll mess up my system if there isn't 10 songs from each person.
 
It's getting that balance between poor and offensively bad to listen to. It could be quite painful taking part in this survivor.
