Highest? I'd define that as a combination of pitch and altitude. So what was on the set list last time he performed in Mexico City?  :P

I might not be the most educated as far as this poll, because I haven't heard any of the Bruce solo stuff you listed. But I went with Childrens Of The Damned anyway...

...but what about Aces High? Doesn't he get pretty up there in that one too?

All right I'll put Aces high as the option.

But please, compare Aces high with Where eagles dare and Quest for fire.

Oh, and one more thing-

GET HOLD OF BRUCE'S SOLO STUFF AS SOON AS YOU CAN! IT IS BRILLIANT. TWO ROCK ALBUMS, ONE GRUNGE ALBUM, AND THREE HEAVY METAL ALBUMS(AND A FEW LIVE ALBUMS, THE BEST ONE IS "SCREAM FOR ME BRAZIL").  :D :D :D

I would say Aces High. Man of Sorrows and Tears of the Dragon definitely not, but otherwise I think it's a pretty close call between all of them. It's kind of hard to chose one, because this is not normally the kind of thing I watch out for when listening to a song... :(

Paul Divanov is my favorite singer.  :innocent:

Also, not to sound naive (or change the subject too much) but which Bruce albums are the grunge/rock/metal ones? I don't really know a lot about his solo career and I am thinking of updating my metal catalog (and was looking into BLAZE too...).

"Tattooed millionaire"(1990)- really good rock, this album shows the harsh, edgy side of Bruce's voice.

"Balls to picasso"(1994)- still rock but a bit different than the previous one. This album has the song Tears of the dragon on, which is probably an anthem of his solo work-an amazing song.

"Skunkworks"(1995)- here Bruce tried to do something different(grunge). The album features 13 songs, almost all of which are rather short, but original and interesting also. This one was produced by the former Nirvana producer.

"Accident of birth"(1997)-Here he returned to heavy metal sound(THE Adrian Smith plays on this and the next one), along with Roy Z. Great powerful songs.

"Chemical wedding"(1998)- A follow up to the previous album, and even heavier. Ten fantastic songs-no fillers. This is a concept album inspired by the work of William Blake.

"Tyranny of souls"(2005)- Bruce's latest album. Heavy with a few exceptions(one acoustic and one rocker). Worthy follow up to CW- that is widely regarded as his best album.

Get them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gong to wind up blowing my whole paycheck on compact discs if I'm not careful. :)

'Fly as high as the suuuuun!'

Seriously, where's Flight of Icarus? :D

Yeah, or the scaring scream at the end of I've Got The Fire :D

Anyway, I voted for Aces Hiiiiiiiiiiigh here....  :P

Personally I think it's definetely Aces High, with the constant high pitched singing, powerful voice, and Aces Hiiiiiiiiiiiigh!

It occurs to me that this shouldn't even be a poll question. After all, the highest-pitch note that Bruce ever recorded is not a matter of opinion; whatever that note it, its existence is a fact.

I mean, this is like having a poll about "What is Iron Maiden's longest song?". It is a fact that ROTAM is their longest song; you could vote for SotC if you want, but you'd be wrong.

So perhaps a better question for this poll would be, "What is the song in which you were most impressed by Bruce singing (or screaming) a high-pitched note?". But that question is too long. The forum would reject it, like a liver transplant gone horribly wrong.

So we're stuck with the current, nonsensical question.

Ahh, but we don't have the equipment to measure the register of Bruce's highest note, so we are merely going by what our ears can tell us, which is highly innaccurate.  So, unless we were to set up a laboratory experiment to investigate the highest pitch Bruce has reached, the question is merely a qualatative one.  Which song do you think has Bruce's highest note?  :smartarse:

The human ear is sufficiently accurate for this question; fancy lab equipment is not needed. All that is needed is a musical instrument which can reproduce very high pitches. An electric guitar may suffice, although Bruce's range might go slightly higher. A piano would certainly suffice. Simply listen to the pitch on the recording, and find the matching pitch on the piano. Record the highest pitch from each song, and eventually you'll know what the highest one of all is.

I have no musical education SMX(except if listening to Maiden counts), so maybe you could tell us what is the highest note ever hit by Bruce.  ;)

You are right, man, thanks for bringing that to my attention. :ok:

I can't believe how I didn't thought of that one before. :S
