Hello, I am from Greece! An e-book has come out that is free and you say "the secrets of the iron maiden".
And it is only in Greek. It is an effort of a person who wants to bring the fanatical listener of maiden closer to their lyrics and their meaning. It has a lot of information that may not exist in English. There are interviews and information from people close to the band and a lot of valuable information. I quote it to you! All the information I posted on the songs is from this book!
Preface to the e-book!
The idea that led me to write this book came up
when, wanting to satisfy the desire of some of my friends, I started
to translate the lyrics of the Iron Maiden songs into Greek.
I soon realized that, even with the help of translation, the
most of the meanings of the lyrics would remain hidden from him
reader. Additional information was needed, such as
explanations of the songs by the performers themselves, knowledge
general education, which would assist the reader in
more substantive understanding or, finally, interesting -but unconfirmed interpretations (which are cited as such).
Thus, many of the essential information was missing from
the lyrics but were necessary for a deeper understanding of them
collected from numerous sources around the world (music publications,
websites, books, radio and television shows, publications of the same
of the band, testimonies of its members, friends or contributors
complex etc) and were incorporated in the explanations.
I have been immersed in these sources for more than a decade. With
based on the information I kept in my memory, the file I had
further information retrieval during
author of the book, as well as my personal communication with
actors who participated or lived up close its history
band, I think I created something much more complete than that
which I initially aspired to.
Although the detailed biography of the band is not
object of this effort, those CVs are not missing
information that I considered necessary to understand the context
in which each analytical disk was created, because the
their absence would make any approach superficial and pointless.
The translation of the lyrics has been done with the primary aim of
give the exact meaning of the lyrics, avoiding, whenever necessary,
the word-for-word translation, from which linguists emerge
imitations that, in addition to leading to soloisms, many times
disorient the reader.
Closing this preface, I would like to point out something that
I realized during the writing of the book. Except
key to understanding Iron Maiden work, without seeking it,
is a good answer for those semi-educated or skeptical who are worried about
the influence of Iron Maiden and bands like them on
youth. It proves that their work is not only not "harmful", but
instead, it contains general education tiles which, obtained with
pleasant way through the acquaintance with the music of the band,
can be a stimulus for thought and awaken in the new
thirst for knowledge. Not the one that is "imposed" for livelihood reasons,
but one that offers deeper education and cultivation.
