This is my basis for my hypothesis that the apocalypse (revelation) already occured... to some extent. While we (by we i mean Christians) still await Christ second comming everything else has already come to pass. I've interviewed several priests, pastors "bible scholars" and through those interviews have come to the conclusion that the book of Revelations depicted the time of 3rd century Rome when Christians were still persecuted and pretty much an underground sect. the book promises the demise of the Beast (the evil Roman Emperor) and the birth of the new Jerusalem where they can worship their God in peace.... um....325 C.E they become official religion of the Empire and is now the official religion of 33% of the world... I'd say the Evil Emperor is dead and they have been able to worship their God in peace (killing a few infidels alonng the way) for a LOOOOONG time.

One interesting fact i'd like to add to your post onhell is that i've read that the number 666, 616 or whatever it might be, is somehow counted from the name of the roman emperor Nero.
 
Well, I guess there's from where the error occured. Instead of Nero, it was Calligulla. Not sure how it works, as Calligula's name is longer, but Calligulla is only a nick0name given to that emperror byt he senators, meaning "little boot" if I'm not mistaking...
 
Bah, blasphemy, it will always be 666 to me. The only avantage is that maybe maiden will play a gig on 6/1/06 which is earlier than 6/6/06 [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
