Voting for the metal song in round 1.

Voting for the extreme metal song in round 2.

GNR is better than the Nuge. Neither song should be in this game technically but Slash's guitarwork on "Sweet Child" is some of my favorite from any genre.

I would have consider voting for extreme metal bias if AAF's "Smooth Criminal" wasn't one of my favorite covers. They managed to marry the nu metal sound with a deep love for Michael Jackson's music and as ridiculous as the cover may be it never once does not feel inspired nor fun.

Queensryche, easily.

Voting for the metal song in round 6. No disrespect to Mountain. But also Slayer's riff is better.

I would certainly vote for Stranglehold over Cat Scratch Fever in a heads up play, so I have to agree with you there, but I don't particularly love Nugent's artistic work. I think he's fine.

Nuge is a decent guitarist but it really is all about Stranglehold. And even then that’s not my first, second, or third choice for 70s guitar jams.

I was just thinking, although I have not much to back this up, that his work is kind of an artistic dead end. I don't see much that evolved from it in terms of other artists, he just did his thing and it was decent, and that feels like...it?

Pretty much. His image did a lot of heavy lifting imo. There are so many 70s rock 1 hit wonders and forgotten guitar heroes who also didn’t go anywhere but here we are still talking about Terrible Ted.

He had enough decent songs to set himself apart from the pack but not enough to make him fully stand out as a ‘70s guitar hero. My partner loves “Free for All” and I think it’s fine, but “Stranglehold” is the only one where I’m actually going, “This is a great song.”

First couple of Ted Nugent albums are decent enough, have one of those "classic album series" box set where you get 5 of an artists albums for about the price of a normal album. I remember enjoying the first two and Cat Scratch Fever being ok, but the last two in the collection being shit. When he took over the singing and the lyrics getting even worse it stopped being interesting to me.

Not sure if I'll get round to listening to them all by the close of the poll, but I'll throw up a vote tomorrow anyway, I'm familiar with at least 1of the tracks in all ties bar the second one.
