The greatest metal music festival of all time?

Kopfanatic

Trooper
Sorry if this has been done before guys, but with the Festival season about to start, I got to wondering. If a promoter came to me and gave me a blank cheque to organise my own festival(think Waynes World) Who would I book.

The rules would be.

10 bands playing 5 songs each.

It would be all night instead of the day to get the benefit of a light show.

You could resurrect anyone you wanted.

Mine would be:-

1st on Immortal
        Rush
        Thin Lizzy
        Slayer
        Blue Oyster Cult
        Judas Priest
        Iron Maiden
        Led Zeppelin(with John Bonham)
        Jimi Hendrix
Black Sabbath (original line up)-Their 5 songs would be- , Supernaut, Snowblind, Sweet Leaf, Tomorrows Dream, finishing off with Symptom of the Universe.

There are loads of other bands I could have booked, but I was thinking of the most appropriate for a festival setting.

Only 5 songs each?  Hmmm....

In running order:

Symphony X
Gamma Ray
Heaven & Hell
Iced Earth
Blaze
Rush
Dream Theater
Blind Guardian
Kamelot
Iron Maiden

Barring the possibility of Maiden playing all day, or at least taking the place of every second band, I'd just have ASAP, The Entire Population of Hackney, Psycho Motel, Samson, Wolfsbane, Bruce, and Blaze (I can't think of more side projects, but insert two more here), with Maiden headlining. :D  Well, in all seriousness, I'd have something like this:

Edit: Added song choices too.

Blaze
- Leap of Faith
- Ghost in the Machine
- Smile Back at Death
- The Tenth Dimension
- Stare at the Sun

Bruce Dickinson
- Abduction
- Jerusalem
- Darkside of Aquarius
- Book of Thel
- Road to Hell

Gamma Ray
- Send me a Sign
- Somewhere Out in Space
- Armageddon
- Rebellion in Dreamland
- Fight

Iced Earth
- Dante's Inferno
- A Question of Heaven
- Prophecy
- When the Night Falls
- Stormrider

Slayer
- Cult
- War Ensemble
- South of Heaven
- Raining Blood
- Angel of Death (yes, quite a cliché list...)

Metallica
- Anesthesia Pulling Teeth
- The Call of Ktulu
- Orion
- To Live is to Die
- Suicide & Redemption
Just so I don't have to hear James sing...

Megadeth
- Into the Lungs of Hell
- Sleepwalker
- In My Darkest Hour
- Peace Sells
- Holy Wars

Judas Priest
- Painkiller
- Between the Hammer and the Anvil
- United
- Revelations
- Rock Hard, Ride Free

Black Sabbath (with Dio)
- Neon Knights
- Heaven and Hell
- Children of the Sea
- Die Young
- The Mob Rules

Iron Maiden (sorry, Maiden would still headline over their influences)
- Rime of the Ancient Mariner
- Brighter than a Thousand Suns
- Paschendale
- Fear of the Dark
- Hallowed Be Thy Name

I'm sure this has been done before, but what the hell, it's always fun to dream. :)

Dream Theater gets by far the longest set, at about 2:15

Come to think of it, I'd pretty much kill to see any one of these sets.

How long is that altogether, out of interest?

That Maiden set is absolute fucking killer, by the way.  I edited my song choices in.

Cool topic, I really enjoyed making this diverse set!
I guess I'd be the only one enjoying all these bands. Especially Bad Religion taking the stage right after Pink Floyd would be quite shocking for some Floyd fans, mhahaha!

But it's my private party anyway.
