The Exploited Are Out To Prove Punk's Not Dead With U.S. Tour
The band is currently on the road supporting their latest studio release "F**k The System," bringing the gospel according to Wattie to 10 countries by the end of the summer. The U.S. leg starts in Colorado on September 10.
Chaos and violence have followed the band throughout their 23-year history. Anything can happen at an Exploited show, although most fans who have experienced the Exploited live walk away with no more than ringing in their ears and maybe a couple of bruises from the pit. Last year, 20 fans were arrested for vandalism and trespassing at a sold-out stop on the 'Holidays In The Sun' tour at the Stony Pony in Asbury Park, N.J. "Punk's a way of life," said Wattie. "It's not just a dress code. It's a belief system."
The Exploited's first recording in seven years, "F**k The System" is a relentless, anger-ridden auditory assault proving that longtime leader Wattie and the band show no signs of giving up their anarchic views. "I hate authority," he said. "I won't be told what to do."
One thing is certain, the Exploited's U.S. tour is not to be mistaken for a nostalgic punk outing. Their live show, fueled by a new batch of songs from "F**ck The System" combined with the band's intense, anti-authority stance, promises to be a volatile powder keg not to be missed.
