A band named T<<N ARCH<R is going to be the band that saves rock n' roll. How do I know? Because I'm in it. I am the lead guitarist and if you could please get our name out. We are all 15 and 16 and are starting to record a demo at THE BLACK DOOR on June 15. We aren't like that DEATH METAL shit we are all used to hearing, our style cannot be described. But if I could describe our band it wouldl be a mixture of MEGADETH, BLUE öYSTER CULT, IRON MAIDEN, LED ZEPPELIN AND VAN HALEN. With pounding drums, and flaming guitar solos (in one song a guitar solo is 5 minutes long) we are the band to save rock, so get our name out!!!!!!
 
Normally, I'd ignore crass self-promotion like this. Not that I blame you for trying to promote your band - it's just that the MFL forums are usually used for discussing established bands.

However, I will say that I like your stated influences. Maiden and Zep are my 2 all-time favorite bands. Furthermore, it's rare to find teenagers these days who appreciate BOC.

I presume that you take your band name from the BOC song "Teen Archer" - a somewhat obscure choice, but a great song. I used to play that song with a cover band about 14 years ago, along with "Baby Ice Dog" and "Wings Wetted Down". So, because you have deeper and better influences than most young bands, I'll give you a chance.

I'd be interested in hearing your demo, if you can post samples online at some point. I'm not a producer or even close, but I am rooting for you to get somewhere.

BTW, it's pointless to 'get your name out' until you give us some more information. A band website, mp3 samples, upcoming gigs etc. For instance, where are you? I don't see much point to promoting your band if you're in, say, England - it would be quite some time before you get to my part of the globe ... and if you get that far, you wouldn't need my help anymore.

Wow! Yes we did get our name from blue öyster cult's TYRANNY AND MVTATION.
Sorry, I will not self-promote again. After we get the demo all out I will post some samples. Our first album will not be released until we are 18 or 19 considering no one will take us seriously at our ages now. So thanks for the support.
 
do you guys have a website or anywhere we can hear some samples of your songs? people wont just spread your name around without knowing if youre worth telling others about. so some audio of you guys' songs would be nice, and i would especially like to hear that song w/ the 5 min. solo.

Hmm, saviors of rock? Theres a difference between rock and metal, so i'd say i'm more of a metal fan. Plus, Dragonforce are the savoirs of true metal.
 
Yes I'm sorry, saviors of rock. We are not into real heavy metal. Our biggest metal song is called "Change into Evil" and it's probably as hard as a Megadeth song.

Yes, we have a very good vocalist for our music. He is a mix between Ronnie James Dio -from Black Sabbath, Dio and Rainbow, and Scott Weiland from Velvet Revolver. Yes, weird combo but good. We hope to geto our samples up on our NEW website by June 30
